Mrs Jones

Can i take a lap top onto a plane as handluggage? flying from Newcastle to Bodrum.?

I really dont trust the baggage handlers so i am not putting it in the hold. My friend was a baggage handler and said that they just chucked things about.

Ya they do just chuck things around your friend is right. everytime I fly I take it on the plane with me as one of my carry on's I dont even have to put it in a case I just carry it staright on and have never had a problem.

Buster
Most airlines rather you check it in and take it on the plane with you. 99% of laptops pass the checkpoints, and even better in 98% of airlines world wide you're allowed to use them once the airplane has reached its cruising altitude.

Yes, definitly. Most airlines will allow (1) one carryon bag within carryon size.. and (1) personal item. Your personal item may be a laptop, purse, camera, or backpack. You will be just fine, and I always suggest men and/or women to take their laptops if they don't have any other "personal item" to take on with them. I work for an airline.

brandy
Yes it can be taken in the cabin as hand luggage but this is the only one piece you can have and must conform to the usual 5kg.weight allowance for cabin bags.

tonalc1
You should definitely carry it on. Be aware that you can only have *one* item of carry on luggage, so the laptop must fit in your one bag.

kiteeze
Yes you can, but they will ask you to unzip it and pull it out and then prod around the casing a bit before they let you through security.
Be patient - it harms nothing.

liz
yes you can take it as a carry on

sechkyn
yes you can. please be sure not to use it just before boarding as battery will be still warm. it may cause fire in cabin. (Don't laugh, it happens and happened before) enjoy your holiday.

ashLey
well u r right to not trust baggage handlers...it is allowed to take ur laptop on board,u can even use it on the plane as long as it is not take off or landing...

Fed up UK Citizen
