It should be fine unless they're melted :)

You can't take liquids or gels through security except in 3 oz or less containers all in a single quart-sized zip-lock bag (with a few exceptions for prescription meds, contact solution, milk/formula/baby food for infants, or juice for diabetics). You can't take any weapons, explosives or flammable liquids through. There are some other things that you would probably never have thought to carry anyway, but most other normal items are fine.

Lifesavers aren't weapons or explosives, they're not flammable, and they're hopefully not liquids, so they're fine. Gummy candy is allowed too, even though it could probably be considered a gel. Even if the lifesavers had melted I'm pretty sure they wouldn't take them away.

Food is generally fine to bring on airplanes. If you're traveling overseas there are agricultural restrictions, but I don't think there are any between the US and Canada since it's kind of hard to limit the passage of plants and diseases between countries that are physically attached. For travel to more geographically isolated destinations, you might not be allowed to bring fruits or vegitables, or certain animal products. But packaged pieces of sugar and chemicals would be fine just about anywhere you could go. I usually bring hard candy of some sort when I have a long flight, and I've never run into any problems.

.smartie.
no-- they shouldn't be a problem (unless you start throwing them at people) :p

The candy, yes.
The water saftey device, no (too big for a carry-on)

no. Food is allowed on flights, its only liquids that are restricted, and thats only at the security check-in.

If the packaging does not contain any drugs or illegal stuff, you should be ok.

CPA Diva
They are only restricting liquids.

they shouldn't have any problem with you taking it aboard as long as they don't have liquid in them. There is currently no limit to food items that you bring from home.

Have a great flight!
