yes!!omgg how strange,
I took my cat with me to russia!!
I took him in a cage he sat in my lap the whole time though,
and you need to take him to the vet and make sure to tell them when you are going,
they need to make sure he has all the shots other wise they wont let him through,
ask your vet everything!!!!
they need to give you a piece of paper with all his information.
also, make sure you get this done a month & a half before you leave,
because there is this one shot that needs to be done 30 days earlier other wise they wont let him through..
also, right before you leave, you will have to take him to the vet and they will give him a shot that will put him to sleep,
other wise he might not get through the 12 hour trip.
go to your vet and ask him all the opptions and best ways to do it.
thats what I did.
:]:]
thats soo funny, i'll be there this summer too:]:]!!!
were going to moscow. |

My Isabel is here! (9/25/08)

i highly doubt it. going to another country is a lot different then going to another state. call the airline.
i know that you CANT when you go to Hawaii, they have to hold it to make sure its not carrying disease or rabies and stuff... and that process takes several months.... |

Whatever you do, DON'T follow the advice above of hiding the bunny under a jacket, you have to do this right.
Call Delta, the charge will be $100 extra to by paid at check in that is if all the conditions are met.
There are certain conditions you'll have to check that your cage is the right size.
The other thing to check is that your rabbit may need shots - and whether the rabbit needs documentation which you'll have to get from a vet. Check with the Russian consulate/website page for the requirements for importing live animals, pet or not. |

Take everything. I understand you taking your bunny. Summer is a long time, |

#1 check with airline, certain animals may not travel to other countries because of viruses and stuff.
#2 all you would need is a dog cage and register it on board just as if it were a dog. There is a special place in the cargo part of the plane to make sure pets are safe. |

Yes you can.
But I think they will charge you.
To be more sure, you can go to deltas website or find their number and ask. |

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT sneak her on the plane under your jacket. You can be removed from the flight when the crew discovers her and you can get into serious legal trouble.
You MUST check with Russian customs/consulate/or their version of the Dept of Agiculture as you would be IMPORTING an animal. Russia will most likely have regulations that you must follow and your rabbit will need vaccines, a health certificate, and possibly even blood work. It may also need to go through quarentine procedures once you get to Russia.
You really need to rethink taking your rabbit with you. It is not a simple procedure. It can cost hundreds of dollars in fees, vet bills and documentation. Flying can be very stressful on animals, regardless of if they fly in the cabin or not. Depending on her age, the stress from flying may kill her. It may be better to hire a pet sitter to come by each day to feed her and clean her cage or leave her with a trusted friend or family member. Perhaps a rescue orginazation could foster her for the summer.
If you do decided to take her you will need to contact your airline and see what their pet policy is. Not all airlines will transport animals either as cargo or in the cabin. If your airline will allow you to take her keep in mind that they will most likely have a limit on the number of cabin pets they allow on each flight.
You will need to visit the vet and make sure that she has all her necessary vaccinations. You will also need a health certificate for her, and possibly other documentation from your vet. You may want to discuss sediatives with your vet so your rabbit is calm during your journey.
She will need to fly in an airline approved carrier that must fit under the seat in front of you (if she's flying in the cabin), and this carrier counts as one of your carry ons. Her carrier will need to have some type of absorbant material in the bottom to absorb any urine or feces. Puppy house training pads are an option and available at most pet stores.
You will need to limit her food and water intake for at least 12 hours prior to flight and during the flight. Trust me, your fellow passengers do not want to smell urine and feces for hours on end.
Your rabbit will be confined to the carrier from the time you enter the airport until you exit it at your destinaion. You are not allowed to take her out of her carrier while in the airport or on the airplane.
If for any reason your rabbit becomes a threat or a disturbance during the flight the captin has the option of diverting the flight and removing you and your rabbit. This means you could get stranded somewhere.
Again, I strongly urge you to consider leaving her at home. |

Call the airport. But yes you can, but i believe there is a fee. But your bunny will be put in with other cages. I hope you have fun!!!=) |

you would have to pay for him to go, also, they would put him in the baggage part of the plane |

you just need a cat carrying cage with some newspaper on the bottom and some carrots or lettuce or her food and you have to tell the airline that you will be checking a pet! |

Well yes and no...
I think it'll be ok as long as you hide your bunny at the airport under some jacket's and stuff but, you'll have to put her cage through the scanning thingy and tell them 'in russia your buying a pet rabit' or 'my aunt in russia want's my rabit cage for her rabit.' As you hide your bunny in your jacket r something. Once you get on the plane put her back in the cage and hold her since when I was on Delta airline's they were ok with my hermit crab's on the planesince there was nothing they could do we were all allready on the plane!
