There are no rules about laptops. You'll just need to put it through the security scanner in it's own plastic tub. You can use it once the pilot says electronics are ok--about 15 min into the flight.

Yes, you can take it. Remember to remove it from its case before going thru security (dont be the guy who holds up the line!). You can use it on the plane after you have reached the appropriate altitude.

Keep it with you in a place that is easy to get out. Put it in a bin by itself when putting it through the x-ray machine.

Then, wait until the airplane captain tells you it's ok to use electronics once you are in-flight.

It's just like a personal dvd player or mp3 player. You will not get any interent, though.

Some caveats:

1> At security screening, you will need to remove it from the bag and have it scanned seperately.
2> If you do not have an air adapter for it, OR your plane does not have seatpower, you want to make sure you have a good battery.
3> During flight, all wireless features MUST be disabled. There is usually a button or function key combo for this. Bluetooth must also be turned off.
4> If flying overseas, when you return to the US, the Customs and Border Patrol does have the legal right to inspect the data on your laptop for contraband material.

You can take it and the crew actually announces when you can and when you can't use it. If you're not flying in first class bear in mind that it quite uncomfortable to use it cause seats are very close to each other.

Yes, you can take your laptop with you -- you may be asked at security to turn it on, so make sure you either have enough power in the battery or a way to plug it in. Even if they don't ask you to turn it on, you will be required to take it out of its carrying case and place in a separate bin through the x-ray machine.

On the plane itself, you'll be able to use it at any point where electronics are allowed, which is after takeoff and before landing. If the laptop has wireless, that function will need to be turned off, as anything that sends or receives a signal cannot be utilized during the flight.

You can take it with you on an airplane, the only thing is, is that there is no access to wifi. From observation, people are usually watching movies, playing games, or working on business/school papers. Make sure that when you are going through security check that you take it out of ur case and open it and run it through the x-ray. Hope this helps!
