Yes, you can, as long as it's wrapped in plastic and doesn't contain liquids (like soup, or juice or water on the side). Stay away from forks and knives and such. I'd stick with sandwiches or stuff you can eat with your fingers. Skip the little packets of ketchup and mustard, too. |

WOW i love it when people answer who do not know what they are talking about.
Yes you can bring your own food on a plane!
You may also send your own food through security! You just cannot take any liquids that are not in a 3 oz container in a ziplock bag.
I sent a hamburger and fries through security the other day! lol, it was no big deal.
As far as taking food on the plane, you can take any liquids you buy inside the terminal (except alcohol)
And you may take any food you wish!
Good luck and happy travels!
PS i work for united airlines, im not pulling this out of my u know what hehe.. |

Yes you are allowed to bring your own food on a plane, within reason - no liquids such as soups.
Just stick with sandwiches, crisps, chocolate and things of that nature.
Just think of a packed lunch. |

If your going to buy food do it after you have gone through the security check point. |

Most airlines have quit providing meals so everyone brings food on the planes, sandwiches from the shops that are all over the concourse. Snacks from thier own travel bag, But for some reason you cannot carry bottled water or maybe even cokes and such thru the security check points. So you have to buy that after you get into the gate area. Which means you also have to pay twice as much for the bottled water. |

Yes no problems. But you cannot take liquid through the security x ray machines. Once you have passed these you can buy drinks in the airport shops to take on the plane |

Best to check with the airline. I used to always grab a cheese steak fromPat's in phila before flying back to SF. But not sure if they allow it anymore. I do still bring snacks with me, but no sure if they will allow a sandwich. I don't see why not, but, stranger things are happening.
I agree with you, airplane food SUCKS!
Just don't bring a "steak bomb" ha ha |

sandwiches, cakes, etc, can be brought from home as long they are in a clear plastic bag (zip-lock bag will do) and un-eaten. |

Yes, you can. I'm not sure if your home-made food is allowed to pass the security check, but if you buy food at the airport, you're definitely allowed to bring them on a plan.
I've done it every time I flied and I enjoyed having my food very much while other kind of suffering those plane food. |
