I did that 2 years ago when I went to Houston from Chicago. But I'm not sure if they've gotten tighter with security or anything in the past 2 years and changed it.

I have the SAME problem right now!!!

I'm 18yo and i'm leaving from NY to Alabama tomorrow. all i have is my college ID and my high school id! my mom is gonna send me a copy of my birth certificate as well so i can show them that if necessary...
i think I have my permit around my dorm room that I could bring as well. And i really can't miss the flight!!! that would be absolutely terrible - i don't really know what to do either....

I'd say just bring as much ID as you can - Your birth certificate, social security card, insurance card, school ID, Permit, any other official documents and have your name, gender, and birthday etc...
You should be able to get through - the second link below is from the Transportation Security Administration U.S. Government site and it says that:
"Passengers who do not or cannot present an acceptable ID will have to provide information to the Transportation Security Officer performing Travel Document Checking duties in order to verify their identity. Passengers who are cleared through this process may be subject to additional screening. Passengers whose identity cannot be verified by TSA may not be allowed to go through the checkpoint or onto an airplane."

Good luck to you! please send some good luck my way as well! I'll let u know how it goes for me! *crosses fingers*

I always use my school ID when I check in at the airport and the security never had a problem with it but idk.

http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/travelers/airtravel/acceptable_documents.shtm

that website says otherwise since most school IDs don't have a date of birth, gender, or expiration date (at least mine doesn't)

You can always call the airport people and ask

Well back in 2005 they let me use my school I.D from NY to LA. (was 18 then) to get on the plane the important thing is as long as you have your bording pass with your name matching your school I.D you'll be alright. but if you really wanna make sure, then CALL YOUR AIRLINE and ASK.

hope that helps

You can use your school ID - I know the airports in Vegas wouldn't care, they're actually very relaxed about security. I live here and my dad flies for business trips every week, so he knows. But I'm not sure how much Indiana cares about ID - it depends on that. If you have a school ID, will they accept it? I know Albany would think it was a fake, you would need an official ID to get in there. But if Indiana is more relaxed about securrity, I say go for it. I had to use a school ID before I got my permit.
