B'zzz UP!
yes they can but if you want to make sure that your child is safe then you can pay a bit extra for a 'Assisted flight'....a air stewardess will sit next to them and take care of them

Yeah. Unaccompanied Minor progam.

Anna
Yea, Im 11, and fly alone to gym meets.....my parents meet me there and we fly back 2gether.

kadmarco
yeah you have to be about 14 or 15 to fly on your own. If you know how to fly a plane though thereis no age limit.

Babygurl
these people do not no what they talkin about yes they can me and my brother do it all the time my 5 year old brother has gone by him self you just have to be there with them and tell the plane leaves and have someone right there when he lands and he will have a guide with him the whole time so he will be safe

Yes, children under the age of 14 are considered "unaccompanied minors" airlines usually charge a few extra dollars for this.

Yes, they can. My daughter used to fly from home across Texas to see her Dad since she was 4 years old. The airline will make you show photo ID when picking the child up.
And you do not have to pay extra for that service.

I just came back from England Last week, Im 12 years old, and I flew by myself. I was there with friends. We met my uncle there. It was fun. And you didn't have to be controlled by parents on the plain, such as sit down or stop moving, or turn your ipod down, stuff like that. It was great.

Opps, I thought you meant to somewhere. yes, you can a child has to though have classes and take a test and make it to fly on their own, no age limit.

Yes......child needs letter from parents etc..

They need to be brought directly to plane

Not allowed stopovers

It costs more as airlines have people watching the child

Lara
Sometimes. It depends on the countries you are flying to and from, and often you need a written notarization from the parent/guardian of the child. The notarization states that they are giving you permission to fly alone and that they accept full responsibility for you and any problems that may occur during their occupation of the plane/and or airport . Other factors come into hand like what category of minor you are, child or youth.

I'm 16 I fly by self all the time even with layovers, I don't have any problems but usually someone under the age of 12 must have a chaperone in this situation you call the airline directly to book this type of ticket and they charge about $50USD extra.

Minors are able to fly without an adult, you will have to make prior plans with the airline as they will need to be escorted at either end, you will generally find that a minor is someone under 16 and some teenagers are quite competent to fly on their own if they are say 14 - 16 years old.

Please consult your airline for information related to unaccompanied minors.
