Can my 14 year old son bring cigarettes back from Italy?

Or does he need to be over 16?

Depending on the state, the legal age to possess cigarettes in the U.S. is 17 or 18. He would be breaking the law once he landed in the U.S.

The legal age to smoke in Italy is 14, but you must be 16 to purchase them. Weird, huh?

u shouldn't let him anyways

Can he? Sure!!
Is it legal? Depends on where you live. In Australia he would not be allowed to bring them into the country.
Should he - or is it should you? I don't think so!

first off he wanted cigarettes he could get them, im 17 and I can go anywhere and pretty much buy them..

laplandfan
assume he is bringing them back for you?
I personally think it's a bad idea to ask a child clearly under age( to smoke) to bring cigarettes back for you!

Elsie B
I hope not!! I mean, I hope he is not allowed to bring back cigarettes from Italy.

What kind of parent are you by asking this online and you were thinking about allowing him to do this. You are crazy tell him no. And you should say to him you can not smoke or bring a cigarette in this house ever. Tell him that it is bad and it could hurt him. Just to let you know this takes many years off your life from living.

why would you even want him to????

well that is an easy question- cigarettes are not allowed to those under the age of 18. period.

okay people BREATH. Where did he say he wanted his son to smoke the cigars? Lots of adults like to have a social smoke just like some people have a social drink. I don't really think either is super wise, but neither are they freaks or idiots.

lighten up

I'd suggest getting an adult friend to buy them. Then keep them in the luggage and just don't declare them. No one should know the difference!
