I don't think so that a dog duly booked and paid for the travel can die in the cargo hold of an airplane.
First let us see what happens if the air pressure is less:
the packed cargo will burst due to less pressure, cargo is not only solid things being transported.
Secondly, if it is too cold again most cargo will become bad. But does it? Daily tonnes and tonnes of cargo are moved by the airlines.......nothing happens.
Thirdly, if God forbid any thing were to happen to my dog...I will certainly sue the airline to bankruptcy! I paid for travel of my living dog...........not to receive his dead body! The airlines know this, if there were any danger, they will never accept pets on board.
I have traveled many times with other passengers having their pets inside the aircraft.....sitting besides them!
So be happy.....and travel....travel if you must with your pet! |

Truth is if your dog flies with you on a commercial airline - he'll be fine. The area where they store animals is pressurized and temperature controlled. They do this all the time with no problems. Most vets recommend sedating your dog to ease the anxieties he may have on being in a room full of luggage alone. A stuffed animal is also a good addition for your pup to snuggle with.
Now if you ship your dog via UPS or FedEx without telling anybody, that could be a problem. |

They wouldnt let your dog travel if he could die. |

Not very likely, as there are safety procedures in place for animal transportation. It will not be treated like baggages. |

Sorry dude- but yes. |

Your dog will be put in a special pet area of cargo. That area is pressurized. (Just don't go stuffing Fido in your suitcase.... LOL) |

doubtful. I've never heard of that happening |

one, ur dog will never get to that stage unless u own the aircraft.. if u do, then don't treat ur dog like that! and don't put such questions in these forums.. u may end up with animal welfare activists on ur tail! |

well it depends on how long the flight is.
If its like 4 hrs he would be close to dead but not dead
if its like 8 hrs its definitely dead |

Yes, but you should be more concerned with snakes and the dangers they pose on planes. |
