Can someone describe a normal airport experience?

like from the time you enter the airport to the time you leave from the airport your are flying to.

There'll be a counter for the airline you're flying with. Go there and check your luggage and get a boarding pass. Then you have to go through security. If you have a laptop you have to take it out of the case and put in a bin by itself. you'll have to put all your carryon in a bin as well as anything in your pockets and your shoes. You walk through a metal detector while your carryon/shoes etc gets x-rayed. you get your stuff and find your gate. It should be printed on your boarding pass. you give your boarding pass to the person at the gate and you get on the plane.

you have to turn your cell phone off. OFF not vibrate! while the plane takes off and until it reaches 10K ft. They'll tell you when you can turn it on. During take off you have to stow all your carryon items under the seats in front of you. Your ears will pop a lot! Then typically the flight attendants will come by and take your snack/drink order.

Decent is pretty much the same as take off, but your ears will be much harder to pop. When you exit the plane follow the signs to baggage claim. you usually have to wait several minutes for them to unload your bags.

i hope this helps. Each airline and airport will be a little different, but they're all very well marked. There's always a sign that tells you where you need to go. and if you get confused just ask someone behind a counter. They're always willing to help.

have fun on your trip!!!

Ok...wait in a line to pick up your tickets, bring along picture ID, make sure your luggage that is going under the plane has your name on it, then take your ticket and picture ID to the inspection area and take off your shoes (I'd wear socks, yucky where everyone else's feet are...pooh) and take off all the silver and metal you re wearing and put it in the bin along with anything not attached to your body like your carry ons to be xrayed. Then, when they say you are good, put everything back on. Go find your area where your plane takes off and wait and wait and wait until your plane arrives. When they call your letter (rows A-F) whatever (I wish) then go into the plane and find your seat. Get comfy and buckle up. Sleep and until you get to your destination. Arrive and find where you need to go.

There is no such thing as a normal airport experience. Every airport and even the same airport at different times is a unique experience. One bit of advice is to allow plenty of time and follow the crowd. Good luck. Flying isn't the fun that it once was.. Thanks to Airport anti-security.

Wait and wait and wait.

To make your way around the airport, read the signs and listen. Airport personnel will tell you alot as they move people around especially through the security line. Watch what others are doing which will help too.

Topguntony basically explained it pretty well haha

A more broad-viewed outlook would be something like this for me:

- Get Transportation there, unpack, say farewells

- Get your ticket/suitcases packed up and checked in

- Take care of bathroom needs (better now then later!) and head to the terminal

- Wait for the plane, and IF YOU'RE LUCKY get on it on time

It seems like 9 out of 10 times there will be some sort of change; from delays to cancellations and standbys, it's very common.

The best advice I could say is come extra early (couple of hours ahead) and be prepared for anything - have things available to do, food, and even be prepared to find a place to stay for the night.

Good luck on your trip!! :)

you buy a a ticket where they issue your boarding pass with your seat assignment and also you check in your baggage if there is any, then go to security check, go to boarding area and wait for your flight boarding call announcement and when its called, you go to designated boarding gate, give your ticket and board your plane and away you go. BON VOYAGE!

You are treated from start to finish like a self propelled package that may contain a bomb.
Any questions?
