it's like if your in a car, and you start going fast from a dead stop. only this time you start going up like in an elevator. don't freak out when you hear the wheels going into the wheel well. after that, you'll go up for a couple of seconds, then go staraight, and this will repeat a few more times, and before you know it, your just cruising. if your not bringing a music payer with you, bring some cash cause depending on the airline. they sell headphone that you can plug it to the arm rest, and use them on your regular cd player later on. my son was 13 last year when he flew for the first time. once we started to move, he calmed down, and started to enjoy the view out the window as we were taking off. |

You will get on the plane find your seat the doors will close and the guy in the ground tug will push you back from the gate the pilots will start the engines one at a time then the tug will disconnect and you will wait there for a little bit while the pilots do their checks you will the taxi out to the end of the runway if it is busy you will probably wait in line for take off when its your turn the pilot will taxi onto the runway the pilot will hold the brakes and apply takeoff power then release the brakes you will feel the acceleration push you back in your seat you will hear the roar of the engines and the rumble of the tires on the runway when the plane is fast enough it will lift off the runway the rumbling of the tires will stop and you will hear a whir and a couple up thumps as the landing gear is retracted you will hear a few more whirring sounds as the flaps are retracted then you are on your way the plane will be climbing and may have to make a few turns until it reaches its cruising altitude you will hum along for a few hours then as you near your destination you may hear the pilots reduce power from the engines and you might feel the plane start its shallow decent towards the airport again there will be some turning to get lined up with the runway you will hear a few thumps as the landing gear is extended and you will hear an increase in the wind noise, when you touch down the landing may be a little firm and you will be pulled forward in your seat like stepping on the brakes in a car you will taxi off the runway and taxi to your gate the plane will stop the engines will be shut down and you will get off the plane. Flying is safe and in my opinion fun!!! enjoy the ride and don't be scared get a window seat and enjoy the view |

You feel the noise like you are in a bus, and you feel you move up like you are in a elevator. And I am sure you will feel safe just like you mom drive you in her car. |

It just feels like ur going faster and then it sort of swoops up. |

As someone else said, it doesn't feel like much (although its kind of nice too). The plane starts running, starts moving, picks up speed, and - as someone else said - whoosh, you start to see the ground "shrinking down". Its pretty fast from the time the plane whooshes off the ground to the time its in the air.
If you're not looking out the window you won't feel much at all. |

it feels like the pressure you experience when you go up in an elevator, only a little more intense. that's it!not so bad! |

You'll be fine its done thousands of times a day in America alone, besides they serve great drinks before take-off to mellow you out for the ride. |

It's my favorite part about taking a trip. You'll like it. The landing is a bit more scarier, but you'll be okay. Quit panicing and have fun. |

You sort of feel pushed back into your seat, you don't feel that you're leaving the ground you just feel like you're moving faster. The speed kind of pushes you into your seat but that's only for like 15 seconds until your body adjusts. You do feel kind of tilted as the plane climbs but it's absolutely fine. No big deal whatsoever. Hell there's a star wars ride in Eurodisney that makes you feel the exact same, it baffles me how they do it without moving you. Oh and more people are killed by donkeys each year than by plane crashes. |

I doesn't feel like anything to be scared of, you can hardly feel anything at all. Tons of people are afraid of flying but I quite enjoy it. Just remember: statisticaly speaking, it's the safest way to travel - Superman |

It is so good, I used to be a flight attendant, it feel like a rush |

Relax, it's no big deal. The jet will be closed and then slowly pull away from the loading gate. It will gently taxi down the tarmac to the runway and then wait in line until it is cleared for takeoff.
The engines will begin very loud roar and the plane will quickly build speed as it heads into the wind to lift off. It will probably be a fairly rapid ascent, so your ears may plug and/or pop. Chew gum duriing takeoffs and landings.
The plane will then level off (just a few minutes) and your airborn and on your way. |

It will not be as bad as you're expecting. If you have a window seat you might want to lower the shade for take off. Take some chewing gum for the landing because your ears may hurt and chewing gum will stop that. |

you may have that feeling, originated from your concsious that you are responsible for a family and kids.
it is almost a doubt in your soul fearing of a possible accident that will jeopardize your guardianship to them |

It feels like a roller coaster ride.. your stomache is tight. |

You know how when you go on a roller coaster and you go down the initial drop and your stomach feels like its rising? Well, its sort like the exact opposite of that. You get sucked back into your seat as the plane speeds up and then goes up.
Its really not that bad. You can handle it. |

It's a wired sensation, but don't be scared at all!

like going up in an elevator for 10 minutes |

I know this won't be your best answer
You should be afraid of driving in a car. You're more likely to have an accident in a car than on a plane.
Besides if your saved what difference does it make.
make Jesus your choice. |

i'm sorry you're worried about it. it doesnt hurt, or make you short of breath or anything like that. it's actually an exciting feeling for me...
i think you should get some Dramamine (motion sickness pills) and take like 1/4 of a tablet about 15 minutes before you board the plane. it will help you relax a bit, might even help you sleep during the flight. (you can find dramamine in any drug store, over the counter, not very expensive) |

It's an awesome feeling! Don't be scared. And if you get a chance to look out the window watch how quickly the world grows tiny. Enjoy the ride and the view! |
