Yes you can.
The airlines allow it.
Most airlines allow 1 piece of hand luggage and a laptop
but because security has gone a bit barking, they say only 1 piece of hand luggage including a lap top.
They seem to have a job creation scheme going on at Gatwick, a load of numskulls standing around telling you after you have checked in that you can only have 1 carry on bag.
I am so glad I dont have to go back to the UK that often.
Security has gone over the top while not actually achieving anything |

Yes you can. You can not use your lasp top during take off, landing and when the seatbelt sign is ON.. |

Yep. Although you'll have to take it out of your bag and have it run through the scanner separately. |

When the plane is taking off or landing, the passengers must turn off all electrical devices--one stewardess said any device that uses batteries. But when you are in the air you may use any electrical device other than pagers and cell phones. However, if the device has wireless capabilities, the wireless must be disabled.
So I suppose that means you can use a laptop, so long as the wireless is turned off. |

you can. they might ask you to take it out of the bag and put it in one of those buckets separately, so it can be scanned. |

yes.
as a matter of fact, you should keep your laptop with you instead of putting it on the unchecked luggage. they'll crush your laptop (accidentally) if you don't keep it with you. |

?

Yes, but actually using it is a nightmare. Unless you're in Business or First Class, as soon as the person in front of you reclines their seat, there will be no way to put a laptop on a tray table so you can type and see the screen at the same time. Putting it on your lap will eventually burn your legs and lead to a sore neck. |

depends...airport security has increased a great deal, and there maybe some airlines that will not allow...for the most part, you can... |
