Yes, I would do something something total different. Take a train or even visit local historical place in the state I live. Just think, if all american not driving, buying and flying for 3 months. What would these businesses do. We as american need to look at the overall picture. Act instead or re-acting. |

Where there is no option, you have to surrender yourself |

With the price of gasoline at over $4.00 a gallon I'm not surprised that they keep raising their prices. Just pay the extra $40. I can't even fill up my tank on $40 anymore...
It does disgust me though. I vacation at home now because everything is so expensive, but for some people (like business men and women) flying is the only option. Those are the people that keep the airlines in business and allow them to charge ridiculous surcharges for checking luggage.
Sorry. |

There really isn't a whole lot they can do. My mom works for American Airlines, and it looks as though layoffs are imminent. So they are trying to save themselves any way they can, and unfortunately, that requires charging the consumer more. |

My Dad worked our of US Air and the "fleecing" of people is what is done over & over again. He always said he fealt bad for new people coming into the company. |

airtran airways doesn't charge for the first bag. they'll charge $10-$25 for the second bag. $10, if you pay for it online & $25 for the second if you pay for it at the airport.
and no airline is charging for international, of what i've looked at.
that's the cheapest i've seen. |

Learn to pack like a motorcyclist packs or drive. |

I don't fly; I hate planes.
Driving isn't cheap, either, but I pick my own destination, take as many bags as I want, arrange my own schedule, and am generally a much happier person that way. |

It doesn't seem like prices are going to go down, so I don't see any reason to postpone trips simply because airfare is becoming more expensive. |

I think its because of the gas prices
Sucks for me, I'm not going to Europe anymore because of it all. |

If I could pick an airline that wasn't charging for your 1st bag and the ticket price was reasonable then I would do that. If I couldn't then I would stay home. Eventually the businesses are going to feel the impact and be forced to do something - at least lets hope thats what happens. |

I would drive, unless it's overseas...then you're pretty much screwed. |

Do you expect the airlines to absorb the fuel costs.......would you operate your business at a loss just to keep customers quiet........Not...........if the public doesn't like to pay to fly.......then drive..........simple.......... |

i know i saw that! that's so ridiculous because my family has 4 people in it. if we all wanted to fly with 2 bags...
it'd be over 300 dollars.
WOW.
it's so stupid.
i would probably just drive...it depends on the airline ticket obviously i just think it's so stupid!! |
