Yes and No. It really depends on where you're going.

For example, it is ok to bring ceritan plants and flowers back from Hawaii as long as they are approved by the Department of Agucultre.

However, you can not take flowers or plants *to* Hawaii unless you declare them. Once you land in Hawaii and make your way to the baggage claim they have "Amnesty Bins" where you can throw away any fruit, veggies or other organtic materials without having to go through the process of declaring them.

For most of the contential US there isn't a problem with bring plants or flowers onto the plane. If you were flying internationally you'd have to check with your destination to see what their rules about bringing plants or flowers into their country is.

deltaqdelta
Not if it is an international flight, due to restrictions importing plants.
If you receive a laie from hawaii, legally you're lot allowed to bring it back.

i dont see why not but be careful over a couple of things.

The flowers may die mid flight due to the very low Humidity levels in the aircraft...ask a FA to look after them or to put them into some water.

If traveling internationally, some plants cant be transported from one country to another.

otherwise just ring the airline to make sure....i cant see flowers used as a weapon (unless used by a hippie!!!! LOL :D)

otherwise you may be able to buy some at your destination

I'm sure you can, but if it's some rare flower that only grows in one part of the world, you're supposed to declare it.

They don't want scary plants from deep dark jungles suddenly growing in everyone's garden.

Yeah sure. Why not?It seems natural to me.
Lol =]

You can bring them onboard but whether they'll be allowed at your destination is what is in question.

Flowers coming into the States have to be declared and can't be potted (or have any dirt attached). Cut flowers can be inspected.

Find out what's allowed where you're going and good luck!

TargetMan
yes but they must be of size to fit in the over head bin

neanderthal
no some people are allergic
