This is what the smallprint says, but seems to be very confusing. I think it means you can only get a refund when you cancel within 24 hours of booking but don't really know I'm afriad. I think they try and make it as hard as possible to understand to make it super difficult for people to get thier money back and then Stelios gets more £££.
3 Refunds and cancellation fees
easyJet is a non-refund airline save as provided in our "Conditions of Carriage for Passengers and Baggage" and in these Carrier's Regulations.
Conditions of Carriage Article 6.6
You may cancel your booking within 24 hours of making the original booking. Please note a cancellation can only be processed up to two (2) hours prior to the flight's scheduled departure time. You will receive a refund (including APD but excluding any credit card, transfer, speedy boarding, sports equipment, or other administrative fees). A cancellation fee per passenger per journey will be charged in accordance with the table below. Cancellation must be made via our call centre on 0871 244 2366 (calls cost 10p per minute; calls from mobiles and other networks may cost more. For other telephone numbers visit the contact us section). Refunds will be made to the credit or debit card used to make your booking.
easyJet regrets that it is unable to offer refunds in the event of passengers being unable to fly owing to any change in personal circumstances, including but not limited to medical grounds, with the exception of the application of the 24 hour cancellation policy.
In exceptional circumstances, however, easyJet will consider issuing a credit in the event of the bereavement of an immediate family member (mother, father, brother, sister, grandparent or child) provided that the claim and a copy of the death certificate are submitted by post to the easyJet Customer Services Department.
All claims will be assessed entirely at the discretion of easyJet. This credit will be to the value of the original fare paid less an administration fee (equivalent to the cancellation fee in the table below) per passenger per journey and can be used against any future flights on easyJet within the following six month period.
easyJet strongly recommends passengers obtain adequate travel insurance to cover them in such circumstances.

Answer:
easyJet is a non-refundable airline, as stated in our Carriers Regulations.

in reference to that 24 hour cancellation... it means that if you will cancel the reservation within 24 hrs of booking, then, the airlines will give you a refund as long as the airlines is not one of those ticketless carrier like airtran! Normally, if you will cancel a flight, you can get a flight credit however, there will be an airline imposed penalty then you have to pay the fare difference because they will repriced your ticket at real time basis. It really depends on the rules of your ticket though... |

6.7 Rate non-refundable

I assume you have no issue with the Airline. You are unlikely to receive a refund unless you write a few letters to them and become a 'pain'. You bought a 'cheap' non-refundable ticket (possible very cheap for booking way in advance) - as opposed to a more expensive flexible ticket. You can't transfer it to another person. What you can do is ask to transfer to another flight (and maybe pay a fee).
This is all part of the deal - they know x% will not travel - and this helps to bring prices down overall - just have to take the hit this time unfortunately - but still get cheap travel next time. |
