Depends on the type of frequent flyer program you are member of. E.g. Lufthansa let's you use the lounges if you are a status client even if you fly economy. |

If you have an AMEX platinum card you can.
Right now Northwest has a deal where for about the cost of a day pass you can have three months.
You can also buy passes with your frequent flier points or company Perks account if your a business traveler.
If you are traveling with someone with a membership they can usually bring two guests.
You can also buy a membership, if you travel a lot its well worth it. |

Definately! They offer the option of paying for a day pass or purchasing an annual pass. If you are flying for business ask your company because there is a good chance they will pay for it on your behalf. |

Many airlines have a program where you can buy a pass to enter their lounges. Unless you have a very long layover, this is not likely to be worth the cost.
Also, in some cases groups are automatically routed into lounges as a convenient place for them to meet when they are arriving on different flights and continuing together. |

Almost all airlines let you buy a day-pass to the VIP lounges; prices run from $30-75 depending on the airline and the lounge (first class lounges will be more expensive than the business class lounges, etc). You must be ticketed to fly on that airline or a member of its global alliance on the day you wish to visit. You can usually purchase the day-passes online. |

Only if you can class yourself as a VIP! If you're not very important then work on that first! :) |

Depending on the airline/alliance, the answer is YES!
StarAlliance: AirCanada/United/USAirways, etc, is the most flexible. |
