you can take drinks on the plane if you buy them after you've passed security, but before security, i don't think so, you have to follow some really presise measures. i bought a coke after i passed security and i drank it on the plane. :)

you can take some liquids but there are restrictions: 100ml max, and they should be placed on a transparent plastic bag when you go through security. Please note that the container can not exceed 100 ml, otherwise you'd have to throw it away. -you can carry small bottle of shampoo, or moisturizer, toothpaste...
As for water -or any other drinks for that matter- you can not take them with you when you go through security. Once you go through, you can definitely buy some at the airport shops. As a tip: note that you can take an empty bottle of water with you and once you're done with security, go to the restroom and refill. Have a safe trip!

They must not be more than 100ml in size, and must be placed in a clear bag no bigger than 20cm x 20cm in size.

Definitely not and don't even try as my friend nearly wasn't allowed to go to Spain last week because she had make up in her bag.

you can take liquids but they have to be in 100 ml bottles and in plastic bags that can be sealed

Yes I believe that liquids and gels are still being restricted in your carry on luggage. You may want to check this site prior to traveling http://www.baa.com/
They will show was is and is not allowed in both your carry on luggage and checked luggage.

If you want a hassle free trip, do not take any liquids with you in your carry-on luggage(that includes lotions, water, soda, oils, etcetera). Necessary liquids(medicine) transported in your carry-on must be in small containers and must be separately stored in a zip-lock plastic bag. If you have more than this, be prepared to be checked at control, be prepared to be thoroughly questioned, and be prepared to have your personal items confiscated. If you must take duschgels, lotions, etcetera, save yourself the hassle, and pack them in your luggage that will be checked. And donÂ´t forget to safeguard it in ziplock bags plus another plastic bag to prevent spilling . *Just last week in Atlanta, Georgia(Zurich-Atlanta-Los Angeles flight), control officers took a plastic bottle of rose lotion from my carry on luggage, and two Dr. Peppers were taken from our daughter. actually i heard that if you pour it in like about 5 (depending on the size of the bottle or whatever) small cups and put caps on them right in front of them they let you take it on (i am not sure but my sisters friend sister saw someone do that and they allowed her)

It is a universal precaution that you must keep any liquids in a plastic bag and if you are hand carrying it, you must declare to the customs. As well as all sharp objects.

you can take them in your suit case just not in your hand luggage, i went on hol a few weeks ago and they even took my hair gel and moisturiser!!!

as of 15th july you still couldnt but you can check your airline on the internet to make sure but i bet you still cant

No you cannot. My wife, son and I flew to the Isle Of Man recently. We were not allowed to take my son's orange drink on the plane. Luckily it was only an hour flight and our son (who is 2 and a half) slept most of the way. Talk about over doing things.
