Can you take Digital Cameras on to planes these days?

I want to be able to film the take off and landing. Will they let me take my camera on the plane?

I took a camera on the plane the last time I flew (Oct 08). No-one seemed to have an issue with it. It was in my hand luggage and got x-rayed and everything so I don't see why it would be a problem.
Only thing might be if you were filming other passengers - people get funny about stuff sometimes.
Have a nice trip.

yes you can, ive done it no problem .

Yeah you can take it on board but if you are flying in an American airline you can't film takeoff and landing, because all electronic equipment must be turned off during take off and landing, or you risk interference with the Airplane's electronic systems. For some reason, some countries airlines however, do not have this restriction and their planes don't crash. It may be a different plane design, or just that America has extra regs right now, I dunno. You'll have to check.... if you fly Aeroflot, you are probably ok, but if you fly United, or British Air, probably not. If you do get great pictures, check out the HD wireless digital frames at Ceiva. http://snurl.com/98odw

You'll be allowed to take your camera onboard; however, it's unlikely that you'll be allowed to film the takeoff and landing, as it's generally required that all electronic equipment be turned off and stowed during takeoff and landing.

You can take it on the plane with you but I don't know about filming a take off. As you know they make you shut off all electronic devices prior to take off. So, if you want to do it better get a back row seat where less people are apt to see you filming and cover it with a little pillow some how. Good Luck,,,, of course you didn't hear that from me,,, I'd never break the rules.

Of all the planes I have been on, they told us to please turn off electric devices.

However on my last flight, 7 months ago, they didn't say anything, I took pictures when the plane took off with no problem.

The airline and TSA will allow to bring the camera on-board, however, you are not permitted to film. The flight attendants advise passengers to turn off ALL electronic devices for take-off and landing, for all devices transmit some type of radio wave. If you disobey, this is a federal offense, and you are subject to prosecution.
