Call up the airline and ask them. Then call up the airport separately - because the two often don't communicate with each other yet make assumptions all the time, and ask for security and then ask them too.
If you're going international, that's a whole other problem - usually the answer will be "no" because you could be carrying a bug or parasite that could decimate a local ecosystem if introduced.
Your best shot is to put them inside your carry-on, like in a large briefcase - something that won't be crushed. Or you could go with artificial flowers, or even magician's flowers (but that's a little overboard).

Domestically = Yes
Internationally = No

Jo
My sister brought back potted plants in a paper bag on the airplane. It counted as one of her carry on items.

Kent-B-True
As long as it is not an International flight.

Gone fishin'
Probably not from one country to the next but if the flight is domestic - sure.

Just a friend.

Not unless they have been inspected and approved for transport. Otherwise you will have to leave them behind or throw them away at your destination. You can't take non-native plants to another location and the authorities will always side with caution.

Sara
yes, but if i was u call the airport before u travel and check with them, as the airport laws are very strict

i think u can

DoH
yep, seen it done many times. The TSA hasn't stopped that yet. Problem is what will happen to them during the flight, if you put them in the overhead they might be ruined.
