Cheap airfare?

what is the best way to go, (for price) when traveling to colorado or even australia, for a whole family. 7 adults and 3 children. maybe even more. Everything just seems so expensive. how do we get plane tickets for cheaper than usually offered.

I have a little travel blog that will help you find the cheapest airfare! Use the Kayak search bar on the right side to find the cheapest airfare!

The blog is about travel to and around Europe, but you can use the Kayak bar to find really cheap flights anywhere in the world!

Ten people should qualify as a group, and it will help if your dates are flexible.

Go through a travel agency or call the airlines directly (talk to a human) and ask about group fares.

Identify the airline you want to use and join their frequent flier program. There are many, many ways to earn miles and you may be able to collect enough for at least one free ticket. Many airlines have affilliated credit cards and also give a bonus for getting the card. Other cards (like AMEX) have rewards programs that allow you to transfer the miles to a variety of airline programs.

I've always gotten my best deals from the airline websites directly. I'll use expedia or travelocity to figure out which airline is most competetive to the trip, then compare that flight on the airline's website itself. It's always cheaper that way.

Try travelocity.com

From experience, I know that they can offer fairly good prices and pretty good service for many flights. The catch to getting a good price anywhere is your flexibility in service (i.e. willing to accept connections/connecting flights instead of just nonstop flights) and your flexibility in flight time (i.e. time and dates of travel). You can always go cheaper with flexibility.

I suggest that you DO NOT try booking through priceline because they have too many rules and the flight prices aren't any cheaper than other places.

As for my travelocity.com experiences, I was able to book a flight from Minneapolis to BWI (Baltimore) on travelocity.com for $80.00 round trip. Yes, we had to fly into Cleveland and change planes, but the service was awesome. We flew on smaller jets through Continental featuring full leather and spacious seating. Check in was so simple with going through travelocity. It was probably my best flight experience ever.

Give travelocity.com a try.

If you dates are flexible, you can try the following website:

www.cheaptickets.com
www.orbitz.com
www.travelocity.com

They have low fare alerts that you can set up that alert you when the fare goes down in your locality.

Good Luck!

Before I push a booking site at you, I need to at least ask WHERE you will travel from, and how long you plan to stay. If you can edit your question to add this info, you'll probably get better answers. I'll check back later.

Here are some sites that might help you.

http://www.bookingbuddy.com
http://www.kayak.com
http://www.sidestep.com

Also keep checking your preferred airlines for deals.
try different dates and times. Usually a stop over is cheaper but not always.

Good Luck
