Connecting flights ...?

I wanna go to a destination where i have to take a connecting flight. If i buy the tickets from 2 separate travel agencies, can i forward my luggage from the departure airport to the destination airport? Or do I have to receive my luggage and forward it again from the connecting airport to the destination airport?

why do you have to use two separate travel agents ?
that doesnt make sense one travel agent can do the entire booking
you dont say what airlines you are flying or where you are flying
what city are you changing planes in you dont say
so all we can say Maybe you will have to reclaim and recheck your bagggae maybe you wont but without the airlines names we cant give
a better answer

Sammy Seal
With a name like Zahir, you might not even make it out of the Terminal. Sorry bud.

I would recieve it and then connect it to your next flight. Then you know it at least got to that point and if the layover is long enough it shouldnt be a problem

Andy
Folks, read the question (such as it is). If you are connecting with a different airline, then you will have to pick up your luggage and recheck it with the second airline. If you buy two tickets from different travel agencies, whether your connecting flight is the same airline or different, you will still have to pick up your luggage from the first flight and recheck it with the second flight. Each ticket will have a different departure code and a different arrival code. The final destination of the first flight will be the departure point for the second. There must be some very compelling reason you want to buy the tickets from two agencies. And I hope you have a very long layover between flights, because picking up your luggage and rechecking it is a very lengthy process.

The Computer Guy
You can't do that. You could if you bought the ticket from one agency and your flight is listed as a connecting flight, then your luggage would be forwarded.

I would advise against going with separate travel agencies as much as you can. But if you have to then you may have to retrieve your bag halfway through and recheck it in. You can always call the airline(s) you're flying on and see if they can't merge your records together, or at least make note so that they can tag your bag all the way to your final destination. Most airlines can put a "dummy" (fake) segment in your booking, so they can tag your bag all the way through.

Plan ahead, always! Call reservations and confirm your flights, times, seating, etc. And when you check in, make sure your bag is tagged to your final destination, and check for any extra tags they put on like "Transfer" or "Connection." Those are things you can ask the agent at the airport. Agents should ALWAYS confirm your bags; how many and where they're going, "Ok Mr/Ms Smith, you have two bags going to Memphis."

STOP COMPLICATION IT!

Just give the baggage to baggage claims and if you have a layover, so does your luggage!

You will probably have to collect your luggage and check in again for the connecting flight.

the first airline will onlysend your bags to the destination on your ticket (national security and all)

soyou would need to collect your bags and re check them with the second airlines.

one other thought would be to pack a light carry on and
upS the rest of your stuff a few days ahead of time

The company will do that all...they will foward your bags all the way through. If you take a carry on that must go with you everywhere you go

It shouldn't be a problem, simply let the check-in officer that you are carrying on after the first leg of your journey.

Call the airline to be on the safe side anyway.

Happy travels!!
