It's 2500 miles (give or take 100).
If you get 25 miles to the gallon, you need 100 gallons. At today's prices (say $3.00/gal average), that's $300.
Although - it's also 35 hours of driving (vs 6 hours travel/airport/flight time) assuming you don't stop. The extra 30 hours of your time is worth how much? Even at $10/hours, that's another $300 - not to mention motels and food along the way. |

Cheaper too fly you could spend anywhere from $500-$1000 one way but you should've stated the type of car you'll be driving that's the only way to really know. |

The answer requires more information,like do you have a Prius,or a VW diesel, or a Hummer? Figure the MPG for your particular vehicle,and divide that number into the distance you will drive, that number will be the number of gallons of fuel you will need. Multiply that times $3.40 and you will have a close approximation of your gas bill. You can get most of the information you need from Map-quest and your odometer. |

With gas prices being astronomical, it's gonna be an arm and a leg. More than likely you'd find a cheaper airline ticket than paying for gas, unless you've got a real small car that gets like 30 mpg or better. |

depends on so many things. The gas mileage on the car, the kind of driver you are, whether you will be travelling up a lot of hills, the type of road you will be on, the speed limit. Too many unknowns to correctly answer this question. |

take a look at the mpg's in your car and the milage that the travel is, and the size of your tank and base it on the fact that here in la gas is running 3.61 a gallon give or take a few pennies and thats the good stuff |

It should take 3 to 4 tanks and it depends on your milage in the car your driving. But I would say $120 to $180 and it also depends on where ou get the gas and the cost. |

It will be cheaper to fly. In Aug. I flew from Charlotte NC to Orange County and the plane ticket was only about $250 round trip. Go to Orbitz or travelocity and get the price of an airline ticket and then search other airports besides LAX. Sometimes the smaller airports like John Wayne are cheaper. |

It is probably cheaper to drive, but then you put a lot of miles and wear and tear on your car. Map Quest shows current gas prices all over the US and you can map your route and it will help you calculate the approx. gas expense. That is the best site I've found to do that. |

About $300. It's 2,415 miles from Jacksonville to Los Angeles. If you get 25 miles per gallon, you will need 97 gallons of gas. Right now, gas is about $2.80. 97*2.80 = $271.60. Remember also it will take you a couple days if you have driving help or don't ever need sleep. |

it would be cheaper, and faster to take an airplane. Driving there will cost you over 500 dollars with gas prices these days, and depending on what kind of car you have. |
