No, we actually have a great social life. We get to travel all over and enjoy a social life in another country if we wish. I love to go to concerts and musical events so when I go to large cities (specifically London) I spend a lot of time at the theater and at concerts.
I've also got a great social life here at home with my friends and family. I have a teenage son and he keeps me very busy with his social life too!
Edit: OMG...travel and SEX? Get out of the 60's please! The vast majority of us are over 40 and married with children. Not a REAL life? Ask my family how real my life is. I cook, clean, carpool, go to PTA and Town Hall meetings, I help take care of my elderly parents, grocery shop and go to football games. Every flight attendant I know does the very same thing. Don't believe what you read in books and in movies! |

I think it depends on the airline you work for and your seniority. Flight attendants are scheduled by seniority so the ones who have been with the airline longer can pick what routes they want to fly. If you just started flying and with a smaller airline, you may get the really bad flights such as the first flight of the day or last flight of the day. Therefore you may be too tired to want to do anything once you arrive at your scheduled destination. |

It depends what you call horrible.
It's all a matter of perspective. |

I don't think so! I've watched a lot of movies where it seems so, because sometimes they're relocated to a completely different country or state or something, where they are pretty much alone and the only people they have to talk to are other flight attendents.
But my cousins are flight attendents and they absolutely LOVE it. They get to travel, and meet a lot of people by being in different parts of the world all the time. And they're not working all of the time - so they do have time to themselves and their friends/family. |

I don't think so. You essentially live with the people you work with. They become your friends, and your family. |
