Yes!!! I used to work at the airport in the cargo area and we used to have to go through security to get onto the apron - and yes, it was often my bra that set it off! Dont worry though - they will know what it is when they put the wand on you to scan you.... |

No, not unless they've got the sensitivity on the detector thing turned up really high, then if it goes off you just get swiped with the wand and say "I think it might be my bra". If you're worried just don't wear earrings and wear a non-wired bra or pull the wiring out of an old bra, if it's a bit padded it should keep its shape ok. |

yup- sure can
they will just pull you aside and use the hand-held metal detector on you, pat you down to make you aren't hiding anything :)
just take your earrings, shoes, belt off BEFORE going through the detector- put them in a basket and send them through the xray machine- put 'em all back on when they come out the other side |

yes certainly can and do. me and my wife recently went through miami and her bra and the eyelets on her belt and trousers all set off the beepers. |

They can usually cope with the bra and studs. If you've got big earrings, it's best to fly with them in your hand luggage. |

I just tell the security staff now I am a bleeper before they put me through security. I have never got to the bottom of it. Maybe its my dental fillings. |

yes they do anything thats metal sets off the detector. when ive passed through it ive rung because of gum in my pockets and because of da metal in my zipper of my jeans so be very careful and it can be a little embarassing to be set aside because they have to scan you. and by the way i hope you have a really good trip, and make sure to come back safely |

For earrings, its not uncommon for security to ask you to take them out when you go through the metal detector, as they do with belts and necklaces etc. You can always put them bak in again after! As for the bra i have never seen anybody being stopped for it! |

My wife rarely wears earrings, but her bra has set of the detector in a few different airports. I was right behind her, and watched with amusement as they wanded her boobs. |

no not on any of them. it might possibly happen on the ear rings but it depends what they are made of |

No they don't. But they sometimes make you remove your belt because of the buckle and some make you remove your shoes. I set off 2 airport detectors with mules on, because they had a metal strip in the sole i didn't know about, they told me to remove them and the alarm didn't go off. |

I've never thought of that! No is the answer, from my personal experience of flying at least once a month. |

no they will not, contrary to popular belief, they look for large sections of metal, because there is a gauge on top of the metal detector. Too much metal and it will go off, but if all ur worried about is a bra and earring then u will be fine, unless of course u have earrings that touch the floor |
