Do i need a passport to fly to London?

I live in Cornwall. I've never been aborad and therefore don't have a passport. I'm going to London in late October and the cheapest way is to fly, as the title says, do I need a passport to fly there? I do have a photo ID as some people say that is all I need.

Thanks in advance

coz you are flying within the U.K (and if you are british) you won't need a passport BUT you will need a driving licence or photo ID for security.

Photo I D req thats all .

Passports are simply a way for British Citizens to legally leave and re-enter the Country, so no you definitely don't need one. However you do need photo ID for the Airport authorities. I live in Guernsey, Channel Islands, and regularly fly over to England. I only ever take my (provisional!) driving licence. They'll ask to see it at check-in, when you're boarding the flight then sometimes when you get off the plane. You can be extra sure by checking the small print on your flight ticket, as they always tell you what kind of ID is accepted.

You need photographic ID, like driving license but if you have a passport take it will, even though you are still in the UK you still need to prove who you are.

florentina272
No my son flies from Cornwall to London and just uses photo id ie driving license or something, however when you book your ticket just ask them and they will confirm it for you

j2frw
No passport need to fly from cornwall to london, you will need photo ID as you said, preferably a driving licence. Check with the travel operator to see what forms of ID the accept

Grizzly
I'm not sure because not going out of bounds of England's jurisdiction, but on the other hand you will obviously need a passport to prove your identity and put it on the records that you were on the flight etc. right up a travel agent it probably the best bet because some flights may vary in there rules

stickadiddle
No, you need any official document, such as a drivers licence, which has your photograph on it. A passport is sometimes suggested but only because of the photograph on it but it is not compulsory.

Richard B
Since you will be flying within the boundaries of the UK I doubt that a passport is required.

Elvisbaby
It depends on which airline you travel with cos with british airways you dont but other airlines you do, best thing to do is check with the airline you use.

Danielle
No dont think so because its internal

AnnaB
Nah man
If you are in Cornwall which I am guessing is USA, I am pretty sure you need passport to fly overseas.
Just go to an embassy and get one made and get a photo taken and etc it isn't that hard.
Good luck flying!
