Yeah, they do. Every passenger needs one. Your boys can use their school IDs

Yes they will need ID to fly. You can get cheap non driving IDs at your local DMV with birth cert. and probably one more form of identification.

No, I'm 14 and I fly alone all the time. They usually just ask for their name, and make sure it matches the name on the boarding pass.

Brina
Best advice, your 16 year old needs ID (school ID is sufficient if it has a picture or hir drivign permit). Double chenck with the airline they are flying for their regs on your 13 year old.

greenmage01
Technically, nobody needs ID to fly in the US. Those without ID or are unwilling to show it will be subject to search, always.
Minors under 16 should have no problem without ID in any case. The 16 y/o however may need a non-driving ID.

I don't know why people abive say they don't need ID??
They are flying alone as minors and if something happen what is the recourse??? Accident in another city......no ID's.
Have some common sense and be a responsible parent. Get them some kind of ID with picture with some personal info.(address, person to contact in emergency), not just for the airlines and TSA, by for their own sake.
btw, TSA will ask the 16 yrs old an ID.... many 16 yrs old look a lot older than they are.
Also airlines will need a notorized letter from you, saying it is OK for them to fly alone. (There are under 18)

ya they might. yes. you can go get one for a cheap price...not a driving licence but a ID that would get them on the plane

Taylor
yes they do if they are going to fly but if they are driving they don't need one.

No not usually.
However have them bring there birth certificates along in the luggae just in case. There flying within the USA so they dont really need any ID. Usually they ask parents for there driver license.

The only thing they need to show is there boarding passes. When there in security check in there will be people asking to see boarding passes.
