its not the right sort of metal for the detectors to pick it up!

When I had my tongue pierced it didn't set off any alarms. You might want to tell them a head of time just to be sure thoguh.

yes. I even have my earings removed when i am passing through metal detectors.So if you have one in a private place, consider removing it before passing through one.

I think it all depends on what the piercing is made off. I used to have my tongue pierced with the standard steel piercing and I never set off the metal detectors. However, a girl I know had her "female area" pierced and that did set off the metal detector...talk about embarassing!
If your nipple piercings are like the bar that I had in my tongue, then you shouldnt have an issue.
