First of all, pay no attention to Sodem O - you most certainly can bring your laptop on a plane - tons of business travelers do it, myself included. You'll have to take it out of its bag and run it through the x-ray machine seperately and that's about it. As for an Internet connection you can forget about using wireless internet on your laptop. Some airlines feature wireless internet in the seatback as part of their in-flight entertainment suite, but odds are if you're flying in coach in the US you're not going to have that - very few airlines, mostly premium international airlines like Emirates feature that. |

you cannot use the internet on the airplane. Any equipment that sends or receives a signal is forbidden because those signals can interfere with the electronics needed to fly the aircraft. You can use your laptop for work, games or to watch a movie if you have DVD player in it. I'd suggest bringing it with you to keep busy. Also alot of airports have Wi-Fi areas that you can use during layovers |

uhhmm i dont think so cause the last time i flew i can't even use my phone. Well you can do an aeroplane mode with a phone but i'm not sure with a laptop. I have a laptop but I never bring it with me inside the plane. Anyways what my uncles does is he brings his laptop then he can do his presentations and stuff I never saw him used the internet cause maybe i think it'll interfere with the audio connection w.e i dunno but yeah you can interfere with the pilots and stuff! thats what i thiNK anyways. |

Some airlines do now have internet access, but only in business class. Check with your airline to see if they have it. Most airlines will allow you to have your laptop as cabin baggage, as long as it is turned off during take-off and landing. |

Laptops are seen as suspicious objects by airport security. You may be taken for a terrorist and held in custody or worse...
And your laptop could be blown up.
