Do they always come out with such fascits questions on that show?
Well, in this case, why don't they charge disabled people for using up special seats, smokers for having such bad breath and so on?
Why the Hell don't we accept each other as we are? We're never going to get out of wars if Man keeps being such a narrow minded idiot.
What's to say the seats aren't too small anyway?!
Some one YEARS ago, decided on the size or airline seats in order to make as much dosh as possible. People are different shapes and sizes now, and guess what, the seats get smaller and smaller so Mr $ can make more with every extra passenger.
We're all uncomfortable is bloody planes, skinny or thin, we should all get discounts or two seats to avoid thrombosis.
We should be worrying about the conditions we are all made to travel in for economic reasons, rather than start charging padded people. |

To start with and i know that it is not only just you that says but i hate the word "FAT", some people can not help the way that they are, and some people eat so that is why the are overweight, BUT when it comes to answering your question, i believe that there are some people out there that would be more comfortable with two seats, and maybe an extra charge should be incounted BUT not another full fare surley, i would not expect somebody to pay half a fare if they were only a size 8 and only needed half a seat!! I do think that maybe airlines should take into account that there are more larger people in this world then there are thin, and that maybe there may be a way of charging a little more so that they can travel in comfort and so can all passangers. |

Only if they need two seats. I'm heavy and I fit fine in one seat in coach..... |

If they take up more than one seat, they should be charged accordingly, if they occupy one seat, then one charge. Can we also start charging thin people who leave food in restuarants? and motorbike riders health insurance as they are more likely to have accidents that cost more money?
That said, if you were on a long haul flight for more than 10hrs and had someone spilling over the seat next to you, crushing you in yours, would you feel differently? Would it make you want to charge them more or just make you wish they sat by someone else?? |

Yes they try to squeeze into a standered size seat but take over half of yours so in efect your paying for half of there fair, thats not right is it. |
|

domme me
 |
yes.
and they could charge chavs extra for being a pain in the @ss
and scots, for having annoying accents
and muslims for the increased vigilance and distraction they cause to other passengers
and americans.......just for being. |

Yes I think that it is only fair that if you are occupying 2 seats - for any reason - then you should pay for both. It is not only overweight or obese people who do this. Some people choose to have 2 seats to have some space, others for their musical instruments or diplomatic papers. It vaires. But in each case it is not the fault nor responsibility of the airline to take on the onus of the passenger. By the same reasoning, someone like Calista Flockhart should still pay the full price for their 1 seat even though they only take up the equivilent space of only the armrest! |

DEFINATELY NOT, that is discrimination,
there are a lot of people out there with genuine medical conditions that cause them to be overweight,( thyroid, steroids due to radiotherapy, certain medications, the list goes on,),just because a person may be slimmer than another, it does not mean that they are are better than or have more rights than a bigger person.
these people have feelings to, and they get hurt by nasty comments like this just as any one else would.
i think this is just a case of pure selfishness. |

yes may be i could take extra luguages especialy that i am not fat |

there are no fatless people. so u need not charge extra. |

as a fat woman i don't think that we should be discriminated against on flights as we get enough on a day to day bases. i fit on a seat fine so why should i pay more? |
|

No. I think it would be very offencive to say to a person you have to pay more for a flight because your fat. Not only that, it's not fair on the attendant that has to give the person that news either! |

The question is where does the charge start, it you are one over weight, two stone, ect... Do we charge ruby player because their overweight, how about bodybuilders they have got some weight with all the muscle, if they do not charge pregnant women then some women might claim they are pregnant when they are not, do you have a scan to check. |
|

Please for crying out loud Margi i say no to such things as that. reason? cos its not their fault that they are fat.
Thank you very much and have a nice day. |
|

dorotti
 |
no of course not... that would discriminate them big time. and to pay for only one seat, they would do unhealthy dieting...
and what about pregnant women? of course its vtheir fault too, to be so fat... so why not suggest an abortion, to make them fit in one, and to make them pay one? |
|

Jharell

and also if they smell realy bad as it is just as bad |
|

moz_head_84
 |
i think they should...
i mean they put a restriction on how much your luggage can weight and if you are going to take up more than one seat then yeah...
things like these are planned out taking into account weight and stuff... |
|

ARRGH!!!
|
No. Some people can't do anything against their weight due to liver or kidney diseases. They shouldn't be punished for a sickness they really have to suffer!!!!!!!! I could also ask: should skinny people be charged extra fees for spoiling the fashion? |
|

Yes - if it means that the seat next to them cannot be taken. Musicians have to may for a seat for their instruments why not fatties.
Might help them loose weight as well.
Oh and to the people who say it isn't my fault I'm fat - unless you've got some kind of medical condition - then it IS your fault - stand away from the donuts. Trust me I've been there I did something about it. Having a BMI over 29 takes about 7 years off your life! |

I do not think they should be charged extra unless they want more than two seats. |

If you take up two seats you should pay for two seats. I have a friend who is approx 6ft 5in and on budget airlines especially he always books two seats just to fit his legs in.
Also, you really should not watch loose women, its not good for your health. |

Fat people should be TAXED more because they consume more and are twice the size of normal people. Why are child tickets less than adults if it isnt to do with the weight!!! |
|

Little Miss B
 |
Definately!!
I had to unpack my suitcase at the airport cause it was too heavy, even though I offered to pay for the extra they still made me leave some of it behind.
Don't think they'd make a fat person, lose 2lbs instantly to leave behind!!
It's exactly the same issue so yes, charge the fatties! |
|

BeeJay
|
Hell no! am not a fat person but i think that would make then feel terrible about themselves and we wouldnt want that! |
|

Only if they take up more than one seat |
|

Yes, or let skinny people take more luggage on! |
|

If you're the size of 2 people (as I have seen on planes before) then you take 2 seats and you pay 2 prices. Simple.
Also, people who are just about squeezing into one seat who are pretty much too big to fit in are making it uncomfortable for the passengers sat around them.
Obviously, people of all sizes should have the right to travel, but if you're taking up more than one seat, then it's unfair to other passengers! Why should I be crushed for 9 hours?
To quote - "as a fat woman i don't think that we should be discriminated against on flights as we get enough on a day to day bases. i fit on a seat fine so why should i pay more?"
I fully agree with this - if you fit comfortably in one seat then there is not an issue on any level, but as soon as you push past that level where you can sit comfortably and the people around you are comfortable too, then there's an issue. |

mr_gigolo_85

yes they should be charged extra for bieng fat. seen as we have to pay taxes for them to be getting treatment on the nhs for all the problems that come with being a heffer. tall people have to pay extra for legroom cus they cant fit comfortably behind the 3 inch gap u usually get so fatties should pay for squashing you up the window when they sit next to you |
|

philbo
 |
If they take up an extra seat they should pay extra if its a full flight |
|

asbo_arry
|
Fat people? Does that include women...or have they thought out a clause to excuse them?
Nice one Essex...that's if my presumption is right and you are also making the questioner think about what she was asking!
Oh dearie...thumbs down for all - looks like the questioner is showing her embarrassment already! |

I watched that. It was really funny(they usually are). I have to agree with carole. Why are we charged for packing far too many shoes, but we can get away with eating far too many dohnuts.
May I also add that I'm not a skinny minnie myself xx. |
