The answer is no. You don't have to be 18 to fly on a plane alone . I am positive because my cousin's friend is 8 and she travels alone. |

No, you've never had to be 18 to fly alone to my knowledge. I used to fly all the time as a kid. I was 8, and my sister was 12 when we started. The airline needs to be notified or they used to. There are certain restrictions sometimes. Once my sister and I were not allowed on a flight as unaccompanied minors because there was bad weather at our destination, and they were unsure if they were going to be able to land at our destination once they got there. If they had to go on to the next city, we would have been alone. Other than that, I never had a problem. Also, if you are meeting someone, you are usually walked out by plane crew to make sure you get to your person, but I think I quit getting the escort in my early teens - maybe 12-14. |

I was 12 and my sister was 11 when we went "alone".
and we had the option of having a flight attendtant keep an eye on us, which we did, and were thankful for. She gave us food/drinks first, and got us to our place we were supposed to be.
but no, you dont have to..
ALTHOUGH. i just thought of this... different airlines may have different policies. |

Depending in which country. You should ring the Airlines and find out. Different laws for different countries. |

No, you don't have to be 18. I think the rules for how exactly it works vary between airlines, but you can actually be pretty young and fly by yourself. |

nope they have a program at all international airport where you can pay a small fee and they will walk your kid arround if there is not an adult. I am only 15 but a few years back they had me with some chick and she would take me to and from the gates took me to get food and always made sure i was safe |

No, the age requirement is much lower.
However, you have to be 16 or older to sit next to an exit door. |

I don't know how young you can be but it's very young. I think the airline has to be notified prior to take off so the attendants will know, but both my daughters have flown at like 12. |

I don't think there is an age restriction. Maybe some paperwork, but I have heard of minors flying without adult supervision. Check with the airline to verify this information. |

It has been a while since I was an active pilot. Old age and illness has taken a toll. However, you need to read the FARs. You do know what those are, right. It tell you in there in the section about licensing. I think it is about 16 for a private license but that would be some good reading for you anyway. Go for it. It is fun. |

|

Bob
|
No. They let kids fly alone. They give them special pins so the flight attendants make sure to watch them. |
