People from many different countries work for British Airways,as pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff. One of my friends is a pilot with BA. She is a very pretty lady from Borneo. I have Indian and Pakistani friends who also work for BA. If you were born in England you are entitled to a British Passport, and you will not have any problems about work permits. To be a pilot you have to be good at maths and science to get through the pilot's training course and to fly the plane. Make sure you get good results for your GCSE's,especially in maths, science, and English. English is the standard language for international air traffic communications. An A-level in a science subject, preferably physics, would also be very useful, but some flight training colleges will accept students with good GCSE's. Your social skills will be very important too, because you will be working with people in a very close environment in the aircraft cockpit. Communication is an essential part of the job. When you go for an interview for a pilot training course you will need to show them that you are friendly and will be easy to work with. The safety of the passengers and crew, and the aircraft itself, depends on the co-operation and harmony of the crew, and their ability to work well together. You also need to be physically fit,so look after your health. Pilots get medical checks at least every six months. A lot of pilots are women. Do well in your exams or you won't get into a flight training college. Best of luck.

No, you don't have to be British to fly for BA. But you do need a permit to work in the U.K.

no.

If you were born in England you will have a British birth certificate, so you WILL be British. Your parents' nationality is irrelevant.

No, you can fly for whoever you want. I pilot is a pilot. Over here in the US we have Southwest Airlines and you dont have to live in the southwest to fly for the airline. Fly wherever you please! Best wishes to you!

No - many Americans, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Russians, Australians etc fly for them.

Fluency in English without a thick accent is usually what they look for.

But if you think about it - what is so good about BA, they are my last choice of airline.

I'd go for Ryanair.
