Yes the airline does require morbidly obesse people to purchase an extra seat if they don't fit in one seat properly. The Airline does this to ensure the comfort of other passengers. Imagine if you were sitting next to a big person and their rolls are falling into your lap.

If a big person that requires 2 seats only has one this can result in denied boarding or make the passenger purchase another seat for walk up fare.

yes u do have to buy 2 seats if u are oversized...it sucks but it helps other people on there comfort of the plane trip

If you are fat enough that you body is unable to sit in the confined space, without compromising the person sitting next to you, then yes, You need two seats.

As far as I know if you are too big to comfortably fit in one seat you do have to pay for both seats. Its a safety issue

Yes, there are airlines that do that. I know Southwest does.

Yes, and it is understandable, most big people aren't able to fit in the small airplane seats. It's uncomfortable, and if a person was to sit next to them, it would be even more uncomfortable.

haha. I asked my mom the same question yesterday. hahaha.
its only fair. we are not talking about discrimination we are talking numbers here... and cubic volume

it is true. Airlines like Southwest will tell pax if they are too fat n have to purchase an extra seat, but most other airlines will let you be the judge unless you are suffocating the person next to you.....

Ciara.
i don't think fat people ride in airplanes that often.
