Well,
it depends,
if you are seating in economy seat, then I prefer to go to hell.
If it is business class, I'm okay with that,
But if it is first class, WOW, I can guaranteed you that, I don't want the journey to end....
Enjoy your flight. :) |

NO :(
the only thing that would keep me sane is to think about i'm going somewhere i want to be...some 15-17hrs on a plane without anything to do and being unable to fall asleep is not a good thing...i prefer stop-overs to stretch my legs as long as the time inbetween for transit is not so long (once i had 12 hrs between flights...and THEN got on a 13-hr flight...basically i developed the skill of staring into space patiently). |

Why not. Long flights are the in thing today. More and more airlines are competing to start non-stop long flights between continents and there are passengers who prefer such flights.
However, tourist charter planes offer long flights to tourist destinations from US, Europe etc. These planes fly for 10-12 hours continously. These planes have crammed seats. Tourists on low budget use these services normally. |

As others said, it depends.
Long flights in small seats in full planes can be difficult.
Long flights in average seats, even in full planes can be fine, especially if I get the window seat. Of course I am not excessively large myself.
Long flights, for me, usually mean I am going somewhere interesting, usually on vacation. While I travel extensively for work, it's usually along the east coast of the US, and involves shorter flights. Since I have airline status I get access to exit rows and bulkhead seats, and even occasionally upgrades.
So long flights can be fun - I'm usually on vacation and in a good mood - I'm going someplace fun. |

If flying coach - no. I've only flown coach. The only good thing is getting to whatever exotic destination you're going to. I've been on a 17 hour flight (24 hours total after connections) before and people start to stink and they lean on you to sleep. Foreign people don't have the same personal space as Americans. Try to get a window seat in an exit aisle or the first row has more leg room. |

I don't mind long flights at all as long as a few conditions are met:
-aisle seat so I can get up easily (people who like window seats on long hauls are insane!)
-i have my ipod as well as a book, magazine, and/or crossword
-personal entertainment system
-pillow and blanket
I've never flown international first class, but I hear it is fantastic |

Yes, I'd rather have a long flight than have a stopover - it's so much simpler.
As long as there's not much turbulence and they've got a good selection of films, TV shows and music to entertain me and the food is at least edible ('edible' is probably as much you can hope for with airline food!) then I'm fine.
Oh, it does help if the people in front of me and behind me are well-behaved!
As you can see, I don't ask for much.... |

Absolutely... I really look forward to an 18 hour flight crammed into to a tiny seat next to some 400 pounder with bad body odor... but then... I also like getting root canals. |

Yes, long flights are amazing in first and business class. You dont want the flight to end, because the service is so amazing!
I hate economy class(for long flights),
Id rather die by someone sticking their hand in a bucket full of broken glass and shoving their fist down my throat than to fly next to the lav in coach for 10 hours. |
