You don't have to be 18 to fly on your own.
If you are 16 and above, with proper documents, you may travel by yourself.
If you are reaching 16, which technically you are still 15, then, you will be travelling as " an unaccompanied minor ". It is a term that airlines uses. but this will not effect your flight schedule.
All it means is that you will need to be accompanied by airline personnel to the a/c, which normally means you will be the first to board the a/c, and you will be accompanied again in the States until a receiving party in the US shows up. You may even get somebody to help you with custom and immigration forms and clearance... cool ha...good luck and enjoy your holidays.. |

No you don't need to be 18. Some of my friends started traveling overseas by themselves when they were like 11 years old. i think 11 is too young but if you are 16, go for it!!! |

I traveled from the US abroad a few years ago before I turned 18. It was ok, although laws might have changed since then.
In any case, your parents can easily sign a permission for you to travel by yourself and have it notarized. |
