Different airlines offer different levels of service, I would have thought that USA would check your luggage for you as do BA and Air France, Alitalia etc. You will need to check with them before you fly. |

No need to worry, the baggage will land at London airport
at your final destination, because you are only
in transit at Philly.
I hope that helps. |

I would phone customer services and ask. There's nothing like getting information from the horse's mouth. |

We recently flew from mexico to the uk and had only 90 mins between conecting flights in Dallas. Unfortunately, in the us, you have to collect your baggage then take it to the connecting flights baggage area. You then have to come out of the airport arrivals area and the go through the scanning part again to get your flight. Our flight from mexico was delayed and we ended up having only minutes to spare to catch our flight. This resulted in only 1 of our 4 bags making the flight and we had to wait for another 2.5 hours for the next flight to arive with the rest of our stuff. |

If you are flying both legs of the journey with US Air, then you will check your luggage right through. Even if you are changing airline, they should be able to transfer your luggage. Check with your travel agent or airline |

Not if you are in transit. When you board the flight in Seattle the check in clerk will tell you if you need to pick it up. |

Quite simple:
1) If you ticket is from Seattle to London with a connecting flight, you do not have to re-check your luggages.
2) If you purchased 2 separate tickets, one from Seattle to Philly and one from Philly to London: YES you have to re-check your luggages.
If you are using USAir for the segment to London , you do not need to do anything anyway, Just show up at the gate to your connecting flight. |

if ,as it seems, you're doing the whole trip with the same airline, then most likely no |

Usually, flights are connected with your baggage..
Like i flew from Malaysia to Singapore to Hong Kong to Chicago, my last destination is in Kalamazoo, Michigan...
I checked my bag in from KUL, Malaysia airport and I only took it when i was in Chicago, then i only had to take the bag into the smaller aircraft...
I believe you won't need to recheck you bag... if you still want to know more, ask while you check in ;-) |

No, your bag will already be routed to fly to London. Have a good flight and don't worry about your bag. The last time you touch your bag before you get to London will be in Seattle at the ticket counter.
I'm glad you're flying USAirways!! Best Big-6 airline in my opinion. |

Simple Answer: No. Your baggage will go onto the next connecting flight. |

for some airports, you would have to clear customs before you can proceed for your next flight...
from what i know, L.A, Newark and JFK airports, you would have to clear customs even if it's domestic flights... i don't know if it's true, but i was told by some passengers that they would still tag your bag to your final destinations but you would have to pick your bag up, clear customs, then put in on the luggage belt...
it's better to check with the ground staff when you check in... hope this helps. |

no-only the other way round.
Presumably you have a through ticket from Seattle to London though with same airline or a code share one?-otherwise you will have to check in at Philly.
They will tell you at check in at Seattle-but if you want to check before-phone US Airways |
