If it is an aircraft type I have not been on before, I actually listen closely.
If I have been on the aircraft type before, I quickly look for my emergency exits and do not really pay atttention to the brief. |

I do EVERY TIME. Different flights may mean different aircraft and theyr all have subtle differences in safety features or emergency exits. I always make sure I know where my nearest exit is (and it might not necessarily be in front of me)
Sure, I have seen it before, but it is always good to reinforce into my mind the safety procedure. Very few people fly often enough to REALLY remember them so I believe we all should pay attention.
But... hey, that's my opinion and my life at stake.
(I totally agree with HM 10) |

I pay attention all the time. Not only do I pay attention to what the monitor or flight attendant is saying, I also read the safety manual especially when flying over water. When traveling with my son, I make sure he understands what to do also in case of emergency. I poing the emergency exit which I always chose to sit close by it and I show him how to umbuckle his seat belt. |

I am the safety demo, so I have no choice but to listen! However, if I am flying somewhere for fun on my own time, I actually do pay attention...especially if it's an aircraft I don't normally fly on. |

Always. The first thing I do when I seat and put my seat belt on, is to read the airplane safety card and to get to know the aircraft I am on, because in the event of something happening I can react and get everyone to safety. because I know were the lifes raft are, I know how to open the over the wing emergency hatch doors, etc. Always have to be prepared to help the crazy people and the people that panic on the airplanes, so everyone can be calm and helpfull. |

I sort of pick up a few words like, safety... first... chute (or was it shoot? :) )... crash
Just things like that, so, no, I don't think I do |

As much as we should, I dont think I've ever met or sat next to someone who ever even realized that they are doing the safety briefing, we should care, but we just don't.
However in case of emergency, well I'm sure we'd listen then.
But even with what they say, if there really was an emergency, because its so rare, people would be out of control theres no way to follow every step. |

Not usually.
Occasionally a cute hostess will be doing a slow motion demo, and I watch imagining other things. Free starter material for the flight in dreamland. |

I don't listen every time as I've heard it a lot before.
I'll listen maybe once every 3 flights in case the procedure has changed.
I have complete faith in airplanes.
They are a very safe method of travel.
I know there has been some horrific accidents before but I travel shot and long distances all the time and the only problems has been turbulence which isn't even a problem. |
