Do you take off your watch when you go through security? |
Just got my first fancy watch, but am wondering if you have to take off your watch when you go through airport security- never paid attention and will be annoyed if I have to, since it's a perfect fit watch that I never plan on taking off really. |

yeah, you have to take off your watch. You can leave it on, but your going to get some more trouble and make others wait.
Dont be a jerk and just take off your watch. Your going to place it into a bin along with the stuff from your pocket anyways, so..... |

In principle you have to take it off and pass it thru the xray scanner.
However, I have forgotten to take mine off a couple of times and the security guy would sometime just wave me down with a metal detector wand or ask me to re-queue. So you can try ... but it would be better to just take it off. |

Yes you do, is it that much trouble to take it off? You can put your precious watch back on as soon as you finish the security check. |

Yes you should take it off and put it in the bin with the rest of the stuff that sets off the alarm, car keys, change, ect. I know you can see the watch on your arm when you walk through, but all you will accomplish by not taking it off is having to step back intament, take it off and then step through again. That or piss the security guy off enough that he takes you in the back for a more through inspection. Less hassle in the long run, don't ya think. |

Take it off. It will set off security. If you're concerned about possibly losing it, just put it in your purse/bag. |

I don't. Mine doesn't set off the metal detector, either. And I go through security... too many times per month. Most watches won't set off the metal detector. Especially if that's all you have on you.
I wouldn't take it off unless you really have to. But that's just me. What's the worst that could happen, you get searched? |

it usually will set off the metal detector so you should take it off and be done with it-anyone who makes the security wait longer won't make any friends |
