Do you think its right that fat people have to pay for 2 seats on a plane if they are takeing up 2 seats?

I think they should pay for 2 seats. It is not the airline's fault because their passenger is overweight, and they shouldn't suffer the financial fallout because of it

i agree, if someone takes two seats they should pay for two seats because other people who want to fly pay for their seat and they should have a whole one to themselves and not just a half.

Yes, the larger person should have to pay for two seats. Thank heavens Southwest Airlines has made this a policy. However, if the particular flight is not full, the person will get a refund on the second ticket. Why should I have to pay to share my seat with somebody else? I have no problem whatsoever in asking the person to pay half of my fare if they are causing me a problem.

i think it is just as simple as (you need two seats=you pay for two seats). it is a matter of need hence, should not be classified as discrimination.

Should a Triple Whopper at Burger King cost more than Whopper Junior? Of course it should! Why? Because you're getting more! Are you going to tell Burger King they are discriminating against fat people who need to eat more food?

Two seats should cost more than one seat. It's only fair because that extra seat is a commodity that could have been sold to someone else. I think that there are some taxes on international tickets like customs, immigration, aphis, an departure tax that a fat person should only be obligated to pay for once. So, the second ticket price should be lower.

And, yeah, more leg room would be great, but that's not going to help a fat *** into a narrow seat!

yes because they are occupying space and they are costing air lines more money. i saw this on cnn no joke. fat people in a plane make the plane consume more gas, so the airlines have to use more fuel. so do they have to pay more. dam fcking str8

I think they should. Or they should at least pay for a first class ticket. The seats are so small some people DO take up two seats, so they should pay for two.

They have made the seats so small these days though, that they are not comfortable for ANYONE but those who look like a toothpick.

I don't think a large person should pay for two seats. But I also don't think that someone else should be uncomfortable because of their size.
Just be happy you got the upgrade and quit worrying about someone else's size and expenditures. It's really none of your business.
Now, if you hadn't been upgraded, I think the airline would be responsible for your discomfort and should compensate you otherwise.

I don't understand why you are complaining, YOU were upgraded to first class! Do you realize how many LARGE people are upset with places that have seating built for small firmed people, how embarrassed they are, their are people that can't help being big, there is medical conditions that prove this!! Not all FAT people are lazy!!!! They have feelings just like you, I hope that you didn't make to much of a fuss over this in front of this person, can you imagine how they felt, the entire trip. As far as the airplane company's and every inch is profit, they will never change their size of seating, Maybe they should have offer him the first class seating instead of you, I am sure he would have been more appreciated. shame on you!!!!

NO, they should not have to "PAY' for 2 seats even if they need 2 seats. That is discrimination.

If someone needs 2 seats it should be required they get 2 seats but should only have to pay for 1.

Let's me honest the coach seats any all airlines are so small. I'm only 140lbs and I barely fit into the seats.

ok, some bigger ppl have conditions where they can't lose weight, and stuff, would u make a person in a wheelchair pay extra in luggage for her wheelchair. or would u make a mother pay extra for her child crying out the whole flight, or would u make the 6 foot 2 guy pay extra for taking up your leg room cuz he was cramped in. leave the big guy alone, we all have our issues. 60 years from now you will be the old man/woman that walks too slow getting off the plane with ppl complainning about u.
you got your upgrade by degrading another , now leave mister big alone.

Hmm... If you said yes, than maybe it's alright that fat people pay for 2 seats.
