Does a U.S Citizen need Passport to travel within U.S in December?

I am a U.S Citizen. I recently purchased tickets to fly from Texas to Nevada. I will be traveling Dec 21 and return Dec. 26th. Will i need a passport at that time?

Also what documents will i need at the airport? Other than I.D and Birth certificate?

No passport needed. Just bring a photo ID like a drivers license.

So far, just your picture ID

drshorty
You will need ID to travel, and a passport could serve as a form of ID. But within the US you don't need a passport; you could use a driver's license, probably.

In the U.S you will only need your I.D; no passport required. A drivers liscense or state I.D. will do.

Darby
No. All you need is a Government issued photo identification like a driver's license.

Red_Rhain
no, you don't. as far as i know.

***a state issued id or drivers license is all that is required***
ENJOY YOU TRIP AND PARTY for me.

you only need your passport to fly outside of the united states. that includes Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America, Greenland, Iceland, United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, India, Australia and other places like that.

No. You only need a pass port if your traveling outside the U.S. You will however be required to show some form of id.

Nope, just don't forget your id.

Stache Man
You don't need a birth certificate, just your state ID, like a drivers license.

low_hd_rider
no, a state issued id or drivers license is all that is required

tom4bucs
driver's license or photo ID will be fine

do not need a Birth Certificate

PS never need a passport to travel within the US

If you're traveling within the country. You don't need a passport at all. It's kinda like ridin the bus, only you're flying.

All you need is your drivers license and boarding pass....

Happy flying and have a wonderful day.. God Bless

You DID say you are a U.S. citizen, right? Then you should know that you do not need a passport or ANY other kind of paperwork to travel from one state to another -- no matter what time of the year it is. Of course you will want to carry your driver's license just in case you need ID for something, but that's it. We are a FREE country -- citizens of this fine nation of ours are free to travel from state to state as often as they want.

Lopeholt
Oh yeah, and vaccines...especialy if you're going to Oregon.
Just kidding. No, you don't.

GambitGrrl
You don't need a passport to travel within the United States if you are a citizen.

The laws have changed when it comes to travel to Mexico and Canada. It used to be you only needed a drivers licence and some other form of identification like a birth certificate to travel there. Now you have to have a passport.

mr. bad girl experiences
