Does anybody know if i can fly from luton to Aberdeen with an out of date passport?

To travel from Luton to Aberdeen you will only need a government issued photo-ID but an EXPIRED passport is not a valid form of ID.

A drivers license is suitable.

Check with the airline that you will flying with for what other forms of photo-ID they accept.

If your passport is out of date, it is useless for this purpose.

A driving licence is perfectly valid as ID for a domestic flight. I have booked many flights for other people, so I know that Easyjet and Air Berlin are fine with this.

If you are still in any doubt, call the airline you are using, or e-mail them and print the e-mail off to use as proof that you asked.

It all depends which airline you travel with. I know for a fact that if you are travelling with easyJet domestically (i.e a UK destination) then you can use a passport for up to 2 years after the expiry date and the passport still looks vaguely like you. Also, were you aware that if you have a work ID then you can use that for domestic flights? All we need to see on easyJet check-in is your picture and your name.

But as I have already said, it depends on the individual airline, so best to check it out beforehand. Even though most airlines will accept any form of photo ID for travel

I recently flew on an internal UK flight and I wondered if you needed a passport for ID purposes, so I checked and you don't.

However an out of date passport is no good for anything, you will need some form of current photo ID, like a drivers licence, as the other answerers have already mentioned.

Yes. As it's within the UK, all you need is some sort of photo ID such as a driving licence.

You only need a passport for international travel (not within the UK). And you cannot travel anywhere internationally on an expired passport.

No as its not valid as its out of date but if you have your birth certificate or driving licence then you can travel as its only for id purposes.
