That should be no problem. One carry-on (goes in overhead bin) and one backpack (under the seat) is allowed. People bring what you're bringing all the time.

i carry one and 1 personal bag to keep at your seat

It depends upon the airline! Some allow only one, others two. You can also bring a purse or baby bag, which doesn't count. Check the web site of the airline you're using to find out!

Normally 2 (two). One to be stowed in the overhead bin and the smaller of the two to go under the seat in FRONT of you. If you put it UNDER your seat..the person behind you is not going to like it one bit since they will have no place to put their carry on item or their feet.
Also.."carry on" bag means...if you can't physically "carry it onboard" it is not considered a carry one and must be checked.
Since the invention of rollerboards people want to carry on cement road dividers because the wheels do all the work. That isuntil they are on the plane and try and lift it into the overhead space. Then some expect the cabin crew to put it up for them. You packed it you lift it. If one cant lift it what makes one think that the flight crew are all weightlifting champions. In fact if the flight crew does get injured by lifting passengers bags most airlines insurance plans will not cover this because the rule is that they are not to be lifting passengers bags in the first place. So if you ask and are declined they are not being rude they just don't want to get injured just as I am sure you don't want your back giving out either. Elderly people, children, or people with disabilities of course will require assistance and should let someone know they will be needing assistance before boarding the flight. However, 6'5" Bob or petite 5'1 Mary please pack it so you can lift it. And if Mary needs help I am sure Bob would be more than willing to assist if she asks. :)

The current rule is one piece only so if you have a handbag it will have to go into that one piece, check with your airline as the dimentions a very strict. You are allowed liquids now but in containers no larger that 100ml all items in a small clear plastic bag.
Hope that helps
