No 1 source is consistently cheapest every time, so you need to shop around. Many of the sources listed previously are good, but you can compare all of them quickly by putting in your cities and dates one time at Booking Buddy.
This will cover Travelocity, Orbitz, Expedia, airline websites, aggregators such as Mobissimo, Kayak, Farechase, Sidestep, Qixo, and even some airfare consolidators such as Cheaptickets and Airfare.com. Booking Buddy saves time by not having to find all of those sites and put your cities and dates in over and over--just one input, then one click for each site you want to check. Much easier and faster for fare comparisons.
Still, even this doesn't guarantee the best fare every time, because there as unadvertised sales, negotiated offers with some suppliers, and lesser-known airlines that don't participate in the mainstream sources. Post your specific itinerary here and you will likely get better advice covering your specific itinerary. |

Be careful when looking for the cheapest. Consolidator websites that buy the cheap fares in bulk really screw the consumers. Those are the most restricted fares and can not for any reason be changed. Airlines can not touch them if you miss your flight or want to change anything on it. NO ACCEPTIONS!! While you can use all of the websites listed in previous posts, shop the individual airlines sites once you see who offers what. A lot of sites wont tell you the airlines until you purchase them, or offer crazy connections. Find the cheapest fare you can, then go to that airline and see what they offer and schedules.
Soutwest is NO LONGER the cheapest airline (thank god). I work for an airline and I love to see that. Wal-Mart of the skies is finally catching up to the rest of us. I have been able to book on Delta considerably cheaper lately than most other airlines. Air Tran is a good one as well. It depends on where you are going and when. Summer travel season no matter where you go will be more than normal. To get a better answer to your question, post your routes. Those of us that know the systems can better answer your question.
Travel Agencies charge you fee's ontop of the ticket charge. Websites do too. The only way to avoid unnecessary fee's is to stick directly with your airline's website. |

Depends on your airport. USA 3000 is very cheap but doesnt fly out of every airport.
You can also try Southwest.com |
