These are just the BEST ANSWERS here! I just love it...

From what I understand, you can bring a *new* travel size tube of toothpaste. That's what I do and they haven't taken it so far.

The only glitch is that you're unlikely to find your *favorite* brand in the travel size. I just have to live without my Arm & Hammer for a few hours...

Also, I get to use up a new one each way. Then I'm left with two half-filled small tubes of a brand of toothpaste I don't even like.

Alternatively, you can buy some gum and enjoy getting to your destination alive and in one piece.

Gotta look at the big picture...

No. It depends upon airways/countries.

If you are talking about the recall, go ahead and use the stuff, then when you become ill, don't call the government, they already warned you.

Yes they do have better things to do.. Altho it's called following the rules so that you don't have to rant and complain about little garbage like that dollar store toothpaste you gave up.

Lilith
Alec the Dalek, Brandon, and Penny pretty well sum it up.

Toothpaste comes cheap. Life and personal security not so much.

Happy travels!

You'd much better risk having your plane flown into a building than risk tartar build-up? I agree, it's a pain, but there are very ambitious people who only need to smuggle a few ounces of platique, nitroglycerine, chemical compounds, or even lighter fluid to endanger a flight.

Next time buy the travel size toothpaste or just purchase some in your destination city.

Sure they do, they also have to debate things to no end. Oh and talk about change. And talk about saving money while spending more and more every day. And talk about how our children aren't learning and then pass a bunch of laws that make it even harder for kids to learn. You know, important stuff.

Sure, they can take away your KY Jelly and prevent you from joining the Mile-High club

I assuming you are speaking of TSA (Transportation Security Admin.) Which you are able to take toothpaste in your carry-on bag as long as the tub is 3oz. or smaller .

The following rules apply to all liquids, gels, and aerosols carried through security checkpoints.

All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be three ounces or smaller.

They have plenty more that they SHOULD be doing, but you don't see any of those idiots actually doing it, now do you?

At least they don't send you to the confinment room and search you head to toe just for having an Arabic last name like me....I'm freakin Mexican-American, and these idiots think they are saving the country by asking me foolish questions! Why don't they search all the other people too? Or do I have to be white and have a last name like Preston to not get searched? Oh wait, they are not terrorists..they Mexicans crossing borders to support their families and reach the American dream and the Arabic refugees are the terrorists..riiight...
