Easyjet speedy boarding? |
Soon I'll flying to Faro Portugal from Gatwick London with Easyjet. I'd like to know if anyone has used their 'speedy boarding' service and whether it is worth the extra money to be amongst the first on and to get first choice of seats. I understand that to an extent it depends on how busy the flight is, perhaps someone can give me an idea of how booked it's likely to be? I'll be flying on a Saturday afternoon. Additional Details Thanks for your answer Starlet. Just to correct you.... I say Gatwick 'London' because it's classed as a London airport. LGW- London Gatwick. Sorry but I hate being corrected! |

More to the point is depends on whether your flight actually leaves. With Easyjet its often doubtful . As for how booked - again it depends whether Esyjet have cancelled flights previous to yours. If they have - yours will likely be overbooked as they squash everyone on later flights xx
Just to correct you - Gatwick isnt in London. Heathrow is in London or London City Airport.
My apologies - thanks for the correction - Mwah xx
Zaniharia - what a nightmare isnt it ?? Technically you see, Middlesex doesnt exist anymore and is all lumped under the heading 'Greater London' . I was confuses about Gatwick as it is located in West Sussex. How can that be London ?? I realise now that they call it London Gatwick - strange xx |

Only if you are not boarding by bus. If the bus has to take you there, you take your chances with the rest who have not paid extra. Most of the time with budget airlines you're bussed. Complete waste of money and as near to a scam as you can get.
Hey Starlet, just join in your little discussion about location of Heathrow and Gatwick. Heathrow airport is actually in Middlesex, and the full address is Heathrow Airport, Hounslow Middlesex, Hillingdon, London, TW6 1JG. From the postcode, it's not London, but most people like to locate it in London. It's called London Heathrow. Pedantic, but it's interesting, ain't it? |

I have to use Easyjet each month and travelling to a relatively small airport I wouldn´t recommend paying the extra as quite often you have to go by bus to the plane so you have no real advantage (usually first on the bus, last off!).
Book on line and you normally get a category A and are the first to board anyway.
To be honest, I´ve never seen anyone standing throughout the jouney so I shouldn´t be too bothered! |

Dont bother its really not worth it. Just be there early enough to be at front of queue. It really is a waste of money and a complete sham as anyone with young children, elderly etc go on before you anyway even if you pay the extra. Save your money youll need it to buy a drink onboard as they are triple the price!! |

Waste of money.
Yeah you get on a couple of minutes earlier, but what do you gain? |

I've used Speedy Boarding - I like to be on the plane early...I travel quite a bit on business and planes are great for catching up on sleep. So an extra 15 minutes while everyone boards is good! (wow, just realised how sad that is! Better start trying for more than 5 hours a night I think!)
And more contributions to the "London" debate....London Luton and London Stansted airports are both 45 minutes+ on the train from central London. No one living in those areas would ever say they lived in London! |

Yeah, and Heathrow isn't actually London either despite what modern county boundaries dictate. Although it doesn't officially exist as a county any more, Heathrow is in Middlesex. It's like how Thamesmead is classed as London in a postcode sense(SE28 I think...), but to anyone that's grown up and lived in the area it's still Kent. Anyway, I'm being pedantic and starting to worry myself in a Freudian kind of way. Don't bother going for the early check-in thing, because in the current climate you'll probably get held up in some way anyway. Just pay less, leave earlier, and have a few pints while you're waiting |

you might as well just check in early and be among the first called. to be honest there's often such a scrum that nobody gets seated in the right order anyway. |

Getting first choice of seats is no advantage unless you only have carry on baggage. All the seats are the same, but you still have to queue for your luggage at the other end. Save yourself the money and have a drink on the flight. |
