Dont let all these other guys scare you! I work as a reservations agent for a major US airline, and an incorrect title on your ticket will not cause any problems at all, as long as the name is exactly as it appears on your passport.
It is true that it is technically possible to change the title of the passenger, but once a booking is ticketed it is not legally possible to do so unless it is a SERIOUS error, and then it will actually cost you some money.
However, if it makes you feel better and with regards to the heightened security going on at the moment I would recommend you call them again, ask them to put a note into the booking and take the name of the agent you spoke to. If I had a passenger on the phone who had the same problem I would write something like "Correct title of Pax 1.1 is Ms instead of Mr" and leave it at that.

I would just act surprised if they say anything. What should it matter? Hope it dont mess up travel plans!

the airline must be satisfied that you are the person who bought the ticket etc. Ring them again and explain the situation, ask for a reference name or number about your phone call then email a confirmation of the call and take a copy email with you to check-in

Most major airlines should accept that an human error rather than fraud caused the situation but do ring again and email to confirm.

I have had similar minor ticket problems with BA and Turkish Airlines and at check-in they saw I had raised the error earlier and everything was fine

I would call the airline again, two or three times if you need to. They can correct this without charge but you need to speak with an agent who knows how to do this; sometimes not even the supervisors know how to do this. You could have serious problems getting through security and on your plane because of this--- even if the names match, if your ticket is calling you a man and you show up as a woman, some of the security screeners might not accept the combination. Keep calling the airline till you find an agent who knows how to correct this.

It could cause a problem,depends who you are flying with its correct that details are supposed to match your passport but many of the low cost airlines operate in such a way they probably wouldn't even notice.

Yes it will cause a problem as it has to match they will be expecting a man not a woman. The airline whould be able to give you some advise. Unfortunalty without knowing which airine you booked with and how you booked it it is hard to give you exact advise on what you should do.

Most airlines will change the title for you without too many problems but this does have to be done before you depart. I would suggest you ring the airine again and speak to someone else. As a travel agent I have not had any problems with changing the title of passengers in the past if it has beena genuine mistake.

Big problem at check in ,the airline will have to change it ,for security reasons the passport name to the ticket name,unless you look like a man!

Depends where you are flying to. Some air lines say the name on the ticket has to match the name on the passport. As the above answer says call the company and get a name reference. If they say not possible you may have to cut youe losses and cancel (se if you can get a refund) and rebook correctly
