Has anyone flown with Etihad Airlines? I have never heard of them, are they any good? What was the service like? Would you recommend?

They are great.Awesome service.
Even in Economy Class they are fantastic, and the PTV's are huge!

This pictures show how magnificent their service and cabin are:

I flew Etihad in June/July. The flight from Abu Dhabi (their hub airport) to many European destinations is quite good, as the aircraft are relatively new and comfortable.

The best thing was the in-flight entertainment: even in economy you have the option to choose from a number of movies and tv programmes, and watch them at your own convenience.

The food and crew is pleasant, pretty much like Emirates. Being new and expanding allows them to pay special attention to passengers. Definitely worth the price.

Ever heard of them??? They are GREAT! They are the airline of the United Arab Emirates. I have worked for the airline for a while among other airlines and it is one of the better ones I can assure you. Service great, new aircraft, tv in the back of the seats.

Konga
A very good airline
and obviously its a Muslim nation carrier

I flew with Etihad when I left the UAE one way on the 1st September 2006 - Dubai was all booked up 2 weeks in advance. Even though Dubai was closer for me (I lived in Sharjah) I took a chance and had a much cheaper ticket from Etihad. It was great, service was good -- there were no queues at passport control or anywhere in the airport -- left Dubai and Heathrow on the sidelines! Loads of people to help if you needed it. Strange it was so deserted! Duty free was ok too.
