Once, but it was technically an accident. (I was so late that they put me on stand-by)
It's was really freaking roomy, the food was served on actual plates, and the seats reclined more than 20 degrees.
I don't really think it's worth the money though, unless you're on one of those "omgz, my soul hurts" type of 15 hour flights. |

It is worth it if you are flying on an Asian airline and you are flying for more than 7 hours. When you get to your destination, you will feel fully rested. |

It's one of those things where if you have to ask how much it's worth, it's not worth it to you. If you have enough money where you don't have to ask and you can just put it on your credit card without even thinking about it... It's worth it. |

Guy who said people dont travel from their own income...um yes they do! I can only afford to fly business class, but when I can afford first Ill fly first...flying is a hobby for me, plus i enjoy the status. |

I've never booked first class....but I was upgraded to first class on a flight from la to ny. It was definitely nicer....bigger chair, more space, own tv, good service, etc.
I don't think it's worth the money though, especially if you are trying to save. I would rather use the extra money on my trip/restuarants/etc. |

its not really worth the money but it feels SO good. The food, the chairs, the space. Its pretty sweet. Some people do it for weird reasons, a woman I knew flew only first class because "darling, you never know who your gonna meet!" She is married to a billionaire now who lives in Knightsbridge London. If thats what you want, the upgrade is worth it. |

It's worth it for me, because I get discounts through American Express- a few times, I've got tickets buy one get one free! British Airways is great for First Class and the Executive Club is rewarding, too. However, the best airline is Emirates. Last month, I was travelling First Class with them and it was simply gobsmacking. Never mind a demi-cabin or 1m squared of space. It was like a hotel room.
Although First Class comes at a price, it is worth it. Would you rather sleep in a 7ft, fully flat bed with meals on actual plates, champagne, lounge access or a cramped chair with 31in of legroom? If you prefer the first option, then yes. |

Yes I have flown first class and NO it's not worth the money they charge for it....it's a wonderful upgrade (free) or if the plane is full and you get bumped up there...enjoy the wider seats, the healthier snacks that come on real plates and the undivided attention of your hostess/host.
If you have an international flight, or one that lasts more than 6 hours...it is much more comfortable for the duration than coach. |

It's definitely not worth the money they charge you for it. Sometimes if you dress really nice, they give you first class seats for the same price as coach. I don't know why though... |

It is not worth an extra 500 a seat. Its nice being there for sure if you dont mind spending extra. I fly coach and put the extra cash on cool vacations. |

Yes, I have flown several times in first class and it is WONDERFUL. But, almost everytime I flew for free or very cheap. I usually dress casual elegant when traveling, if the flight you are checking in is full they will offer you an upgrade, (they will try to sell it to you and if you want it you can negotiate the price.) For example I flew from New York to Miami in first class for $40 more (that was worth it). I never buy first class tickets because they are very expensive and you are going to get to the same place no matter where you sit. I usually travel using one or to days to play with just in case. If the airline looks for people to stay until the next flight, then I can do it without a tight schedule. In the next flight they usually sit you in first class and also they offer you another airline ticket(sometimes...). Now if you are travelilng to Europe or on a long trip (6 or more hours), try to pay the price.
I traveled from Puerto Rico to Spain (8 1/2 hours, non-stop flight) and the seats in first class had their own tv, and they turned into a bed....that was worth it. I landed in Spain feeling renewed. Try it sometime, you never know what will happen to you tomorrow, If you have the money do it, feel the experience, never leave things for another day, indulge yourself. |
