could it be that in fact you don't have a fear of flying , but a aversion to queueing for hours at the check in , the fear of getting a seat in front of or behind some selfish git who either stinks or fidgets, keeps going to the loo and grabbing your seat, or sitting next to some one as broad in the shoulder's that they take up two seats (That's me i'm sorry) or the guy who keeps lowering their seat at meal times , crap food , swelling up , ignorant flight crew who ignore you, taking of and landing 3 times to get to oz then getting of in oz and facing immigration customs, could it be that like me you do in fact not fear flying, but fear all the sh!t we put up with while we experience the miracle that flying is

It happens to the best of us .. just keep telling yourself that you`re more likely to have an accident on the way to the airport which is true

just remember you have only have a one in a million chance of your plane crashing (if you take out all raf planes)

why don't you try hypnotherapy...that could cure your sudden fear

Nothing everyone gets the jitters sometimes. Hypnotherapy, valium(or a couple of drinks) is my advice. Don't give into it or you'll make it worse, good luck.

Trust me everyone has fear of somethings , seriously if air travel wasn't safe then they wouldn't be taking people on board like me and you! Ithink you are very lucky to beable to have even the chance to go to australia think positive and be confident ;)

I have panic attacks so I know the feeling, ask your gp for diazapam and take an hour before the flight You will be nice and calm I promise

Gunny. You'll be fine. Just make sure you get to the airport VERY EARLY so you have time to check-in, etc. Then you can have a cup of coffee, chill out, and so on.

The only thing to worry about is missing your flight or forgetting your passport!

Just think of relaxing thoughts that you can run through on the way to boarding and wilst the plane is taking off.

Maybe it's the events when you're there that are worrying you?

Try and recall the previous flights. What did you see, feel, hear? Did you read a book, sleep, listen to music...did you eat or talk to anyone on board??

Book it if you decide not to go I will go instead.

You will be fine. Just book your flight. That happened to me a number of years ago too after no problems flying but I am a lot better now.
