Ill say bullet points to stop you reading loads!!

A music player to help her sleep if overnight flight.
Gum to stop ears popping
Earplugs to stop ears popping*some airlines provide this*
A good book if its a long flight.
Keep water handy for the sake of it!!
My brothers 11 and PETRIFIED weve travelled all over the world and the only thing that stops him running around screaming is having a small toy, obviously your partner is not a small child but maybe a small squidgy keychain or even your hadn would help!!
Talk LOADS to her and just keep her mind off of the flight.
If there is any turbulance, distact her by asking questions or talking about how good the rest of your trips going to be.

I would say distraction adn something to do are the main ones.
Have a good time ,
By the way, if your driving to the airport etc dont tell her you have mroe of a chance being in a car crash than an airoplane crash!!!

1) chew gum! is the best thing so your ears dont pop!
2) hold your friends hand ! this has alwasys helped for me!
3)bring a book! or really anything that will keep your self busy on the plane
4) talk! talk to your friend and keep her totally distracted while going up or down
ex) talk about where your going etc.

first thing bring gum. When the plane starts its landing so she won't have the whole ear problem and the trip will be better. When you take off close the window and it helps me when the plane takes off i grab on to the arm rests so i feel i have something to grab on to so let her use yours if she needs to.

The easiest thing to do is to have her go to the doctor and explain the situation and get a prescription for Xanax.

If possible try to get an upgrade to 1st class. Someone who is nervous about flying for the 1st time is not likely to sit and read a book or magazine. So it will be up to you to keep her distracted with conversation during the flight. Talk about what you're going to do once you get to where you're going, or maybe bring some cards or some other type of game to keep her hands and mind busy. Some of the airline's have personal entertainment systems you can rent for less than $10, or maybe there will be a movie if it's a long haul flight.
Bring snacks, gum, and water for sure.

Make sure you are both prepared for the trip to the airport, and understand the security process... i.e. take your shoes off, make sure you have any liquids separated from your carry-on luggage, be aware and respectful of those around you.

You may find these websites helpful if you're traveling in the United States -

Best of luck to you both!

There are no secrets to an airplare ride. the worse feeling is probably the take-off since you feel a bit of pressure, but that's normal. just sit back and relax when take off and landing. also.. sometimes ur ears get messed up, have bubble gum available I know it helps. if she's feeling sick, there are always bags that she can use to throw up or ask the flight attendant for water. try and take some magazines or a PSP so she can take her mind off from the flight. if you two are talking, don't talk about the plane ride, talk about something else. hey I saw ur question about ur uniform... give me a yell: bluesting004@hotmail.com well, I hope this helps since I have traveled to a few places on plane. Have a great day!

I am a fifty seven Vietnamese year old and I'll try to describe that this simply. May tell your partner such as :
- Try to gather by hearing : noise, sound of machine...
- Try to gather by seeing : objects, windows, runway...
- What will you see, what will you hear and what will you think all or don't think about anything ?!

Also, try to get some sleep to pass the time and calm your nerves

For MY first flight---I was going SOLO and scared to death---I made a PIT STOP at the airport bar and downed a few voldka and orange juices before bording the plane---ALSO brought 2 packs of PEPPERMINT GUM.... one was to take care of the BOOZE BREATH and the sore ears upon takeoff and landing.. I was VERY calm on the plane until the booze wore off... but that was just about the time they served drinks again on the plane. Next time I flew, I didn't need the booze...but for your friend, have her sit in the WINDOW SEAT if at all possible... it is such a trip the first time to watch the plane rise from the ground and then to watch the ground and objects get smaller and smaller...if it's a CLOUDY day, you probably won't see much out the window once the plane goes above the clouds, BUT, if the sky is clear, it's quite a view for your scared friend...and it WILL keep her mind off her fears...

It's no big deal. Tell her that you have a better chance of being in a car accident than in a plane crash. If it's the initial flight itself, tell her to bring something that comforts her. Music player or a good book would work best on flights.

yup...
jus tell her that once you're up in the sky it is really beautiful and you'll forget about all your worries

Just imagine that you will be "excited" to see the clouds :-)

And to see houses and buildings like ants, it will be a nice ride.

Don't forget to bring some candies to chew during your flight and drink plenty water.

Oooppsss.... last one, go to church or pray before your flight schedules.
