AHi! All you need to do is relax and look forward to a fun Christmas vacation waiting ahead.
I have never been in the U.S but I have flown for around eighten hours in the last few weeks so relax.
I was also alone during my firtst flight and I WA FIFTEEN. yOU WILL NOT MISS YOUR FLIGHT IF YOU KNOW HOW TO LOOK AT THE TIME EVEN YOU HAVE VARIOUS TIME ZONES OUT THERE.
The weird sensation you will feel is when taking off the grownd. You will feel like you are flying alone and not with the plane.... but it's a thrilling feeling so look forward to it.
Another is the pressure in the ear that you will get. But you can take it away by holding your nose and blowing hard so the pressure will go out of your ears.
If you are worried about the flight sickness, you may take in a pill against it an hour before the flight. Just relax and von voyage.
Take care and stay alert during your travel.
I hope i have shared some thing. Be happy and have peace. (_^_) |

Just go to the airport early. When u are transferring flight, to the transfer gate early if u are concern about missing the flight.
Your ear may feel block when the plane is landing, chewing gum may help with the situation. |

dont wear a belt and wear east take off shoes. get there early so u have time to go through security. its especially tight right now because of the holiday season. plus u will need ur ID with ur ticket to show them but thats onlt through security. im pretty sure with a connection flight u wont need to go through security a second time. when u come off the plan there will be a airport attendent next to the door, ask her where u go next. good luck |

Just be calm. You can go on the TSA website (http://www.tsa.gov/) and they will tell you what you can and cannot bring on a plane.
Usually when you have a layover there is someone at the gate when you exit telling you where your connecting flight is going to be. There are also screens everywhere that tell you what gate all the flights are at. If it is a big airport they will have a map to show you how to get to the other gate. If you are very lost and getting anxious, ask an employee how to get to your gate, they will help you.
You should get to the airport 1-2 hours early in order to get through security so you don't miss your flight, you should also go directly to your connecting gate in Atlanta. |

Firstly do not panic, you will need to take your passports and tickets. Research the new terrorism prevention security measures and carry no metal in your pockets. The airport staff will easily direct you if you are lost, and its their job to assist you. Also its well documented at the airport what you have to do and where to go. Just remember to ask a question with a smile and they will help you. Always arrive well in advance for checkins aswell. And plan your route and the bagage you can carry. |

Time your clock to wake up about an hour before you were planing to get up if the plane leaves early in the morning(you can sleep on the plane) or if it is late then leave about an hour later then you planed to. it will make it impossible to miss! =) |

Bring chewing gum, an extra water bottle, buy one at the airport if you have to. try to plan ahead and get a map of the Atlanta airport before you leave on the trip. |

Don't worry... there are people eveywhere and signs to show you where to go. Just get to the airport in plenty of time. There are huge bulletins showing flight numbers and whether that flight is on time. You can also ask at any desk.
You will be just fine... Atlanta is busy but then , all major airports are. Hold on to everything and have it in a secure place... claim check for baggage, etc.
You will not miss that plane. I have before, but it was my fault for not paying attention. I just took the next available flight. If you should miss your connection, the airline will reschedule you for the next available flight. But you won't miss it because you will be more attentive than I was.
Have fun, Hon!! |

Flying can be scary but it can be as easy as you make it. make sure to have picture id, only pack what you need it is better to travel light. check in all your bags instead of taking carry on bags. The security is ridiculous nowadays. arrive an hour or so before departure so you can find your gate. wear easy on easy off shoes for security purposes. if you are flying coach try to take one of the front seats you have alot more space there. chew gum it will help your ears from popping. that is about it i believe. Hope this helps. Have a great Christmas vacation! |

first don't be nervous everything will go fine..make sure you have your id card .take your ticket to the counter along with your luggage and sign in..make sure your luggage has the name and address of where you are going. then go to the gate and sign in there. then when you go to Atlanta just go to the gate and sit and wait for your flight.make sure you chew gum going up and down for your ears.. |

Atlanta is a big airport, true but it's one of the easier airport to get around. They have trams that take you from terminal to terminal. When you book your flight make sure you have at least 1 to 2 hours before your connecting flight so you do not have to rush. The best way to fly for your first time is to get a straight flight if you can. Do not get a window seat for your first time if your scared of hights. Yes chew gum so your ears will pop. If you know your connecting gates/terminal, go online and look at the layout of Atlanta airport |

If all you are taking is a carry on bag then don't have any fluids unless it is less than 3 ounces. If you are putting a bag underneath then put all your hygene stuff in there (i.e. razor, shaving cream, tooth paste, ect.). Obviously don't carry a pocket knife, nail clippers, nail files. Be prepared to take your shoes off when going through the metal detector and take your belt off as well. If carrying a lap top on the plane, it has to be taken out of its bag and sent through the xray machine separate from it's carrying case. Other then that its pretty simple. Follow the line of people until you get through the security check. |

when you check in say you are an UNMIN, the company wil then see you through everything and escrot you - first time its not a bad idea, this means they class you as an unescorted minor .. usually you get very good treatment, my daughter loved it when she was flying to and from us |
